why all the hype about overated earnie?

I cannot understand why Earnshaw is attracting such criticism. He scored a goal every other game in a poor team at the end of the season for us, and previously in the premier he scored regularly for West Brom, the 44 games someone speaks of on this thread, were mostly late sub appearances, his average goals per games started is actulally very healthy, again in a poor team. For Cardiff, he scored for fun, and he plays with a smile on his face. Im old enough to remember some really crappy forwards, who couldnt score in the proverbial brothel, theres so much to moan about and criticise at Carrow road, lets not pick on one of the few shards of light peaking through the clouds. His brace against Trinidad showed sharpness and speed of thought beyond nearly every striker at championship level, give him service and watch him go. Unlike many others at the club... he will deliver.

Totally agree Charlie''s Dad, Erny is the buisiness.  A poacher extradinaire.  He scored 8 goals in 13(2) games whilst we were playing terribly.  What you see is what you get, he can get a goal out of nothing - and as they say ''goals change games''.

Just stop hoofing the ball at him and he will score bucket loads.  Lets hope Safri stays fit and one of the other central players shows a bit of quality and we may be able to push on next year...  With more Worthington Style Hoofing we are going nowhere.

As others have said, his record speaks for itself. He is a quality finisher and we are very lucky to have him. He also clearly enjoys life and I would hazard a guess that he is very popular in the dressing room. We need that sort of character.

To be honest, I am just amazed that anybody could question him.  And as for being mercenary, if indeed he is,  then he is no different to 99% of football players or, in fact, non-football playing wage earners. Given the chance to increase our salary dramatically, most of us would leave our current employer and take the higher offer.

So, FFS lay off him !!!!!!!!!!
