What people always seem to forget is that the club is not the only party involved. I can tell you now that the club is looking for new signings and contacting other clubs and agents regarding signings. The problem is that they are not going to anounce a signing prematurely and they want everything to be tied up before the world is to know. That way other clubs arent brought into battle for a player that was otherwise thought to be well guarded at their current club. Otherwise you look like Warnock prior to the Sheff Utd match saying they will have Ashton and Huckerby when the reality is they have Horsefield and Akinbye. To think that nothing is happening is a little naive - thats just a cover story to keep prying eyes away from uncovering the NCFC secret operations headquarters based in the back of what was thought to be a St Johns Ambulance where all transfer targets are discussed and plans of attack agreed!

Paper talk today says Dave Jones to Palace.Johnson to Portsmouth.Palace would then have transfer money for Jones ,would Koumas then wait and follow him to Palace .He who hesitates will lose it.We have had enough of some of these last minute bargains ,they don''t fit and there is no refund.

I hate to say it chicken but it is a much repeated point by Doncaster and Worthington that they won''t be picking any players up until after the world cup, don''t try and defend the indefensible - these are direct Quotes from the guys in charge!!!

They said the same last year and we didmnt sign anybody early doors - with a player like paul Ifill (whom would have been ideal) already having gone to sheffield united for a fee (so we arent just talking about freebies here)

The only quote on transfers I could find was this one on the 16th of May from ND,

“The reality is that work is going on and has been for a number of weeks and will continue to go on,” he said. “Unfortunately, not all clubs, players and agents work on the same schedules as us: the vast majority of people are away during the month of May.”

Can you give us an example of what you''re saying?

when worthy ws interviewed on radio norfolk he said something along the lines of....

We will put our feet up and enjoy the world cup, then we will start preparing for next season...........

Its the same line they gave us last season about not signiong players early doors.

[/quote]Is this not in relation to training rather than signings? To think that the club is literally doing nothing is a little extreme and wishful witchhunting at best. In some ways we know that they already have plans after selling Jarrett and releasing Charlton and Ward. That means we know they have some targets already in their sights. And the fact that rumours are flying around suggests that we are at least "sniffing" around players like Cook (QPR). I think we should offer £1million for him and Shittu because if we can get those two we will sure up the defence and release Huckerby to play alongside the Earnshaw or MacKenzie for the three quickest players in the division!

And just look at all those high flying teams who have signed players so far.........

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/gossip_and_transfers/4751347.stm

The only one I can see is Ballack to Chelsea.

Sorry CJF but your negative stance on everything NCFC at the moment is seriously undermining your credability imho.  I appreciate that you want Worthy out but please stay in the realms of reality, there''s lots of talk but no one seems to be buying quite just yet.

And before everyone has a go, only the people inside the club know what is going on with transfers, whether it be coaches or players, not the fans, we know the clubs policy on transfers and in previous years the majority have agreed with their approach.

Reality....biggest thing on TV at the moment!!!!

No news is good news , are you really all that keen for Worthless to waste the last of the parachute money . As for Koumas , hes a footballer so no chance whatsoever of  the foolish one going for him.

We could never afford Koumas. Robson said to the BBC that if Cardiff want him, about 3.5million is about right, or a straight swap for Camerone Jerome.Out of our league friends!

Its interesting CJF. Can you not remember all of the players we did go in for and didnt get like Hulse etc?Is it not possible that we tried to get Ilfill but didnt offer the right wages or his agent made to big a demand or we simply lost on a bidding war? This is not just down to Worthington its down to how far the club is willing to stretch for one player. As mentioned before just because it isnt publiscised doesnt mean it didnt or it isnt happening.

Worthy stated last season they werent gonna sign anybosyt to save on wages...  Ifill along with Craig Short and Danny Webber were signed in May by your favorite Neil Warnock (apparantly a poor manager even tho he has as many play-offs and promotions as worthless whom failed in the prem.).

We managed to sign Hughes after upping our bids and negotiating wages after he turned us down once however!!

Worth it if its the difference between going up or playing Hughes types and staying mid table. £3 million  well that could be the other half of the Ashton money well spent and it still leaves the parachute payment for Worthington to waste.
