The Duke of Norfolk 0 Posted May 11, 2006 Now if i look at it objectively and see how much money we have spent and probably will spend in the summer then i would say that that team should achieve promotion. But then i see Worthington as our manager and i don''t know what to expect.Should we expect to challenge for automatic promotion next season or is that expecting too much? It doesn''t tend to make a great deal of difference the following season, provided the right players are bought and the ambition is to stay up.
Citizen Journalist Foghorn 0 Posted May 12, 2006 Anything above relegation and the clown in charge will keep plundering our money and playing left backs in central midfield.
JC 0 Posted May 12, 2006 I have already written to Neil Doncaster asking him this question, and asking if the board will state their expectations clearly for once before next season starts. Perhaps someday the club will give a clear answer. percyvarco 0 Posted May 12, 2006 Unfortunatly the board will be happy with the current financial performance, good season ticket sales, an above 90% attendance at matches, continued development of the various building projects around the ground, some profits on players (ashton etc - green will be next) a reasonably low wage bill and the odd "5-6 home wins in a row and just missed the play offs after a late surge" type seee tu ay shun.Oh! do we play football to any quality? With the Fiscal performance who cares!
blahblahblah 2 Posted May 12, 2006 percy,You are joking, right ? Promotion to the Premiership is a huge revenue earner. The championship play-offs is widely reknowned as the biggest money game in the world, even more so now with the new TV deals. The bottom team in the Prem were guaranteed 15 million per season, from this season it will be 25 million.I can''t see how you could possibly think that the board would not want promotion. If we don''t get there this season, the parachute payments dry up, and we''ll be in the same boat as Ipswich.
