sheded 0 Posted May 14, 2006 I really hate to put a blight on our world cup expectations , but the reality of what we can expect is already becoming apparent , just in case some of you havent noticed , in the past few years , there`s been scandal after scandal , worldwide , mostly about match fixing , crooked referees and goalkeepers , some of them even starting up companies to launder the bribes they are taking ! The latest scandal , I think , is the Italian league, where widespread corruption has caused hordes of the Italian public to turn away from watching football entirely ! but they are certainly not on their own , there are scores of foreign clubs around the world , who`s players [ especially keepers ! ] have been on the take ..... in all probability those who have been caught are just the tip of the iceburg , football in the far east is now just a farce , where huge betting syndicates fix matches almost openly .I watched the antics of two Spanish clubs yesterday , the cheating bleeders were throwing themselves to the ground wholesale as soon as they got near , or into , the box ! and the referee [ I use the term loosely ] seemed to think this as not whistleworthy ! FIFA is even dodgier that the FA , and thats saying something ! So ... come the world cup , we can look forward to :-Dodgy refs making dodgy decisions.Dodgy keepers fluffing simple saves that your granny could have held .Players performing spectacular somersaults if any opposition get within 4 paces of them .Last , but not least , we can expect the " referees " to blow the whistle as soon as any English players heads for goal , mark my words !Its being so cheerful that keeps me going [:D] Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
