Worthingtons 'True Supporters'

Recommended Posts

So Worthless said on Radio Norfolk that the ''true supporters'' stayed behind to clap him and some of his non performing players in the lap of dishonour, just about sums him up doesn''t it!! Still made a change from work ethics and honesty didn''t it.

Wonder what he called the 17000 ish who left before they came back out?

Oh and by the way Mr Foley can we judge you now????

Finally thank God the season has ended and have a great summer everyone.

totally agree. Worthy is saying we only have 5000 loyal supporters. The mans a joke and now he''s turning on the majority who aired their views silently. I have never seen a lap of dis honour in front of so few fans in twenty years!!!!!   Hope Delia witnessed the majority voting with their feet.

Now we do we all agree on what the majority of fans really think. [:D]

Totally Agree as well I left the grounf 5 mins after the 94mins.

They took so long to come out that I thought ..... oh well you''ve been crap all season bar about 3 games. (what were they?)

I''m off home.......that makes me not a true supporter!!! Worthy you are a TW*T

Final!

I have also posted this as I feel as strongly about it as you do!

Time to to go

I think worthless is just cluthing at any straw advailable at the moment. The ground was half full or empty depending on your perspective, and of those who stayed there were those who stood in silence. I reckon he thought that he could away with saying something like that now that the season is over and we will all have forgotten everything about this season by next August.

He was pleased with the performance again as well. And Karl Robinson could see positives from the game. Glad the future is so, so bright at Carrow Road. 9th is such a great achievement after all.

And yes Mr Foley this should really be judgement time. Bet it will be all quiet on that front wont it?

Me and my whole family were disgusted by this comment, and that''s coming from people who DID stay behind and applaud. Not because we support Worthington (we all want him out and protest) but because we felt that some of the players deserved our support. I respect the right of those who stayed away as a protest as well as those who stayed to show support for the manager, but I think that most were there simply there to clap those who have given their all i.e. Hux, Doc, Flem, Leon etc. It might also have been the last time today that I will ever shout "Greeno, Greenoo" and I think the legend deserved a send off if he leaves in the summer.

To Nigel: I am a loyal supporter who wanted to show some appreciation to the players but are you so stupid that you believed that reception was for you? Well it wasn''t.

But I will say again, those comments were a disgrace and the board should sack him immediately. Otherwise we will have to assume that they agree with his comments.

And if a fan who has paid around £25 for a ticket and has travelled 3 hours to attend and doesn''t want to hang around because they want to get home, does that not make them a loyal supporter?

Worthington out.

"I''m not trying to be antagonistic or enter the debate at all really but the number of people who left was nowhere near 17000. "

EXACTLY!   yet again people are exagerating the figures, id say that when i was looking at the amount of spare seats, around 12 - 13,000 people stayed

So out of the Norwich fans how many would you estimate stayed behind then macdougall for the lap of dishonour?

Here we go again.  If "Disgusted" was there for the lap of honour it''s unlikely he actually heard the interview.  I didn''t hear it either, and I simply can''t be bothered to get involved in a debate based on hearsay.

As far as the number who stayed is concerned, at the time I thought it was about half, with the Pit, parts of the Barclay and most of the City Stand rather empty and the rest fairly full.

The reception was better than I could have hoped.  There was genuine warmth, not just polite applause.  The players'' children once again stole the show, with ball-hogging (Hucks Junior!) and wild goal celebrations in evidence.  Once we realised that those who had chosen to stay were not going to spoil it by booing and jeering, I think people felt more able to express themselves.

To be honest it is almost impossible to hazard a guess - but judging by chunks of full areas and chunks of empty ones (City stand seemed emptiest) - together with people in downstairs sections moving to the front - I would say that 11 - 12000 is a reasonable guess which I reckon means that about 12000 left, some of who would have been Wolves fans. Anyway, I said I''m not trying to be antagonistic and I am in favour of replacing Worthington (I stayed because I wanted to clap players like Huckerby, Drury, Earnshaw etc) - but I just thought that the  implication that 17000 Norwich fans left (in the suggestion W should think about them) was a bit misleading. Sorry. [:)]

Sorry to burst the bubble, but I didn''t hang about as I had places to be, nothing to do with either supporting or not supporting the current manager.

I''m just hoping that everyone on here will have a long hard think over the summer and, whatever their views, come back to give the side their full support next season, whoever is the manager.  At the end of the day everyone wants the same thing - a successful side, and we can''t possibly get this with civil war going on; ok some think it can only be done with a new manager, but if that doesn''t happen I would hope that the side would still be given a fresh chance to prove the doubters wrong - at least for the first few games..
well done mate, well I also want more left backs played in midfield, andy hughes style players and general crapnesss in my club good!!!  as far as i am concerned I will struggle to suppotrt his teams again, until he is removed.  He can **** off.  He has made so many mistakes it is untrue he is boring dull and inept.  but hey I will stay in the ground causing hassle until he is gone!!!  its gonna be another shocking year next term!!!  bet you cant wait.

Just a question that''s been bugging me. Not friction intended, just curious.

If you felt strongly enough about the situation, then you must have left, yes?

If you left, then how do you know how many people were in the ground?

If you know how many people were at the ground then you must have stayed.

If you stayed then you surely don''t feel that strongly about what you think.

I may be totally wrong but the maths just don''t add up for me.

Could an anti Worthy person explain this for me because I''m struggling here.

Again...........No argument intended, just want to understand the position.

Upload them to webspace somewhere (e.g. the webspace you get with your ISP or a photo hosting site), then while writing the message switch to HTML view at the bottom of the editor  (if you use Opera you won''t see this) then insert <IMG SRC="http://www.yourwebsite/directory/picture.jpg"> then switch back to Design view and you should see it. Email them to webdesk@pinkun.com if you haven''t got any webspace and I''ll add them in the morning.

I''ll just keep bumping this to the top till we get a reply.

Some people stayed to applaud the handful of players who wore the shirt with pride this season. They were the ones who have supplied some of the figures on here this evening.

I stayed for a few minutes after the whistle, to see what happened in terms of people staying or leaving.  Me and my group then left because we do not support the current management team.  When I left (Jarrold stand) the ground was heading towards half empty.  Of the half who stayed, a lot of those I suspect stayed out of a sense of duty to wave off certain players and clap the team, rather than stay to endorse the current management of the club. In my opinion the droves leaving the ground and the remainder staying mostly to clap the team, not endorse the management team, I think should send a HUGE message to the deaf and dumb board.

Open question, who stayed in order to show their support for Nigel Worthington?  Any takers?

I stayed (in the N & P) to clap the players rather than Worthington and, yes Morty, by the time this photo was taken I had gone because the players had passed.

To Mystic Megson, I can confirm that I stayed for the lap of honour to clap the players but not to show support for Worthington. I then walked straight back to the car to hear the end of canary call and then all the interviews. Whether or not someone heard these comments live or not, does not change what he said.

And I would say that there were around 8,000 max, and out of those probably about half might have been there to support Worthington.
With respect, Yellow, we''ve just had a thread posted by someone who did hear it and thought Worthy said "The true fans shone through today".  I listened this morning and he didn''t.  He actually said "The true fans showed their loyalty".  People hear what they want to hear. You must have an extremely low disgust threshold if you were so upset by that.  From what I heard he was having a go at the minority who willed us to lose to QPR, and why shouldn''t he?  Those who dish it out should learn to take it.

I am not a worthy fan but i do not aggree with blaming the board. They saved this club from the brink of adminstration and are true fans of the canary badge. There is always politics behind the scenes that we don''t know about and for all we know they could be looking for a replacement. Trust in delia and michael as they WILL do the best thing for the club. As for the chump in charge and his post match comment he hasn''t a clue who is and isn''t a TRUE fan and we will be here long after he gone and most deffinately FORGOTTON. Face it Worthy it is an insult to call yourself a manager!!!!

UM he ACCUSED OTHERS OF NOT BEING TRUE FANS WITH THIS REMARK MEGSON.  anyway I am not sure you are a norwich fan anyway, You are obviously a megson supporter so have no idea what a good manager is like (megson has a better record than worthy BTW)
