Is six home wins in a row really fluke?

Recommended Posts

I''m not being facetious but I do think this is an interesting question. We have won 100% of the home points up for grabs since Feb 5th (that fateful derby day). They haven''t been pretty victories but I just wondered how many straight wins it would take before it became unlikely that our home form was down to luck?

Yeah, this is true, which I think makes it an interesting question really. Because I keep expecting it to drop and for us to get beaten playing like that, but it hasn''t happened. I wouldn''t be surprised if we beat Wolves now and everybody said it would burst with Sheff Utd (who are now promoted so obviously not that bad) but it didn''t. So I was just wondering actually despite looking so sketchy I wouldn''t be amazed if we did play those six again and do okay. Yes there were some wonder saves but everybody seems to mention that as though a goalkeeper isn''t part of the team - thats what he is there for. If a wonder strike gives you a win, thats all part of the game (even at the highest level) so surely great saves are also. So what I''m saying is, yes its scrappy but it is working at home - and I thought we actually started to look pretty good when Johansson gave us a cutting edge. (in fact good enough to score three goals in 12minutes)

I am puzzled because we are playing like cr*p but it is hard to argue with six straight home wins. Our away form on the other hand...

NC, no I haven''t been impressed with them but you can only play what is in front of you. And I have made a particular point of saying that I am talking about our home form. I''m not sticking up for Worthington but just saying that it is strange, thats all.
