Ark 0 Posted April 23, 2006 No doubt this will come as scant compensation to the negative-minded hordes gathered over this message board but, with everything effectively decided in the Championship last weekend, our end of season battle with the black and gold scum will probably be the most hotly-contested encounter of the day. Okay, we''re only playing for 7th place... But come on... This is Wolves we''re talking about... Can anyone here SERIOUSLY say they''d like to see us beaten by WOLVES!!! LinkNR9 0 Posted April 24, 2006 The most hotly contested encounter of the day? Why?We may as well be 17th as 7th. At least Wolves try to play decent football, not like the crap we are playing this season.
macdougalls perm 0 Posted April 24, 2006 I''m behind this, gotta finish above the gold s**m. And Link, try telling that to a Wolves fan at the moment - they are as disgruntled as we are and their attempts (to play football) have quite evidently been no more successful than ours as evidenced by our almost identical league positions. And as for 17th place being as good as 7th - yeah right!
Ark 0 Posted April 24, 2006 Thanks MP. Link, as I say, nobody has any REAL positions to play for in this division on the last day. So, as far as the also-rans go, 7th is pretty important, not to mention that the match is 7th vs 8th, and we''re talking about Wolves! (as previously stated) Anyway, as I say, this is all lost on most and, either way, the sooner this season is over the better for all of us WO, KTF, KO, KFC, whoever. Middle of the Road 0 Posted April 24, 2006 Come on Link - its Wolves - do you actually go to matches? I may not like Worthy but I''m not going to chair Wolves against Norwich!

Ok 7th doesn''t mean anything in promotion terms but surely every place higher we finish is preferable and in monetary terms too? Beating Wolves would be a great way to end the season. We think we''ve had it bad but what about them?? Every season they fail to produce the goods! Lets rub a bit more salt in their wounds. Finishing 7th is scant consolation for the season but it''s all that''s on offer so lets not look a gift horse in the mouth! Anyway if we lose, Luton and other teams could finish ahead of us so going out with a bit of a bang is important to me!
LinkNR9 0 Posted April 24, 2006 MP - why is finishing 7th going to do us any better than finishing 17th - we still won''t be in the play-offs.
Sing up the river end 0 Posted April 24, 2006 We only hate Wolves and Ipswich.Nuff said
Rudolph Hucker 0 Posted April 24, 2006 It''s the battle of the underacheivers. The head to head of the nearly men.
macdougalls perm 0 Posted April 24, 2006 Link, it won''t provide any tangible benefit but I would just rather we finished in 7th place than 17th. For one thing it would be above rather than below Ip**it - which is important to me, having a load of s**m supporting mates who would never let it lie. So, I know it is personal, but I am happier with a 7th place finish. [:D]

Misery Guts 0 Posted April 24, 2006 you get more money Link of that I''m sure and also finishing 7th means finishing above Ipswich so that gives us local bragging rights but I imagine you along with many others would prefer it if we had finished 17th because a) last few games would of been more intresting and b) surely the board would sack worthy
streakey 0 Posted April 24, 2006 Some fans are easily pleased? 7th in a 6 horse race ! At least we avoided a fall into the bottom 3.! Come on lads and lasses our support is worth more than that season of trash Worthy has presented us with who ever we beat in the last game .It might as well be against Doncaster Belles. gazban 0 Posted April 25, 2006 I read a wolves fans post on Teamtalk and they were complaining that they were sick of Hoddle playing pretty football at the expense of results! Ironic eh!
macdougalls perm 0 Posted April 25, 2006 Streakey,Please tell me where I have indicated that I would be pleased with a 7th place finish - this thread was about wanting to beat Wolves and whether or not it was better to finish in 7th or 17th. STOP putting words in my mouth - this board is enough to drive you to distraction at the moment!! [:@] I did NOT engage with this post as a pro or anti Worthy post, but as a debate over whether we want to beat Wolves and finish in 7th place or not. What is more, I may be wrong but I also believe that to be the intention of the original poster.
Hucka Hucka Huckerby 0 Posted April 25, 2006 We have to put one over the gold scum, I can''t stand them!!!!! This game is second only to the Ipswich games as far as I''m concerned, so for the love of god let''s make a good atmosphere Sunday!! 7th place also means more cash than finishing 8th or lower. Plus we don''t want Luton trying to claim the title ''Pride of Anglia''.

A couple of mionor points here - (a) yes, I''ve been going to the home matches for the past 20 years (b) Where did I say that I was going to cheer for Wolves??I want us to beat Wolves any season. What I don''t want is to see our joke of a manager in post at the start of next season, for the sake of our Club. Crooky, Disco Dale, Foxy, etc. - could you see "Fancy Dans" like that being allowed to do their stuff with NW as their Manager? - "Oi, Gordon, enough of your step-overs and fancy flicks. I don''t care if you are a winger, I''ll get in a utility player to replace you if you carry on like that."
