You've just picked the worlds worst website for rumours, and it'll be horrendously wrong.

And the fee's we've got for most of our recent big-sales has been exceptional, with the majority not even realising their price tag.

Unfortunately, we cannot stand in the way when more ambitious clubs come calling

Offering the chance to play in another league

Just ask Abu Kamara

..... though in his case it looks to be League 1 😄

It’ll be interesting to see how Attanasio handles this situation. I’m more confident that he’ll want to keep Sainz for longer (ie to the end of the season) as he’ll be able to see doing so should increase the player’s value. And Attanasio should have deeper pockets than our previous owners to allow him to ignore the short term gain of a Jan sale. At least I hope so, anyway.

If he won’t sign a new contract - and what on earth could we offer him now, tying him down as it would,  that his agent would accept?

18 months to go, super hot form - the hottest of his life by some distance - this is both the right time for him to set up a transfer to a ‘noisy’ club to move into a bigger theatre, plus the maximal value point from Norwich’s perspective.

Business is business. I know he’s flying now, though nothing to £20 million odd is excellent business in a short space of time.

And it’s not like we have just been promoted to the top league…..

Timings, dear boy, timings..

Players wanting the best clubs are better waiting for the summer window. January buys are usually panic buys from clubs in trouble.

Don't sell him in the summer, you mean? 😉

People overpay in January when they feel they need a boost.

Not necessarily a good time to buy, though can be a good business time to sell.

It was also juxtaposing with Buendia. One is ok (disappointing for fans of course), the other is self-destructive on too many levels. If you know football and footballers you know the difference.

Most on here will remember the cry in the summer. " Where will the goals come from" after the departures of Sara, Rowe and Idah. Yet out of the 72 Football league clubs only Wycombe have scored more than us (one more), Very few have hit 30s nevermind our 35.

So at the moment it is a case of 'cometh the hour, cometh the man' (or boy), Crnac. I can't imagine anyone wants to see Sainz leave, but such is the pecking order in football there are bigger clubs than us. That is how we got Fisher....and Sainz.

Yup. If we are even remotely thinking about selling I bet we have a couple of rough gems lined up. Recruitment is everything and we are in an incredible strong position to attract the best young talent in Europe and beyond.

It's interesting, since Galata have recently signed Hungary international winger Roland Sallai from Bundesliga side Freiburg and he is  a very similar player to Sainz. Not just hairstyle.   Leeds were after him but he opted for Galata. This may be a long shot, but if the Sainz to Galata story has any legs in it, and they want to replace Sallai with Sainz, a swap deal could be on the cards.  SPORTAL EXKLUZÍV – Sallai Roland: „Milliméterek választottak el attól ...

I thought the same. As I understand it Galatasaray are quite an attractive springboard, but at this rate he would surely attract interest from the PL and La Liga (if he gets to 30+ goals it will be likely too hard to ignore).

It seems like players are pushing for moves earlier than they used to. I wonder if the growing gulf between PL & Championship has something to do with it. E.g. even in best case scenario we go up, getting hammered each week in the PL probably won't appeal to many ambitious players like it used to.

We signed him from Turkey, perhaps he just likes the country?

See I was assuming that their plan is to offload Ziyech who did well on loan for them last season but hasn't made any impact this season after signing on a permanent and has been criticised for the few appearances he has made, and replace with Sainz. They won't get much of a fee for Ziyech but he's said to be on about £60k a week.

Istanbul is a lovely place, offers much more for a rich young man.

I know, I've been, great city.

Also, teeming full of barbers Turkey isn't it, Sainz strikes me as a man who likes the full works including the nostril waxing and fire to the ears.

Who knows what his agent has been doing and 'agreeing' on behalf of Borja, but he won't be leaving in January. Galatasary will probably need to create a vacancy first anyway.

We just have to hope there is a bidding war for him.

Was really hoping for news of a contract extension prior to January. Sadly it's gone a bit quiet.

Always seems to come down to dodgy agents wanting more money. Seemed to ruin both Cantwell and Idah, possibility Rowe and now..

Welcome to the outside world Cambridgeo, where an awful lot of people are only out for themselves . Just  a quick scan of Kevin Dacks posts will serve as a reminder of how low people will stoop to get what they want.  Sure they'll dress it up as another issue but it nearly always boils down to greed . When it concerns  K D , you can forget the nearly.

If he won’t sign a new deal which I’m guessing he won’t . We need to sell in Jan to maximise our dough. Simple business decision in a season where promotion and relegation are both unlikely.

It would seem that Sainz is less part of the project than the money we would receive if he left. I, like most fans, would to prefer to continue to enjoy watching him in a yellow shirt for the rest of the season but I don't know anyone who expects him to kick off here next August. I expect the club, Sainz, his agent, the players, and the agents of clubs who might fancy him are all working on that assumption. It is only a question of price and timing.

@Parma Ham's gone mouldy;s point above is interesting. What does happen if the team goes on a run and we end up in the EPL. Does the Buendia factor still apply, or because everyone knows what the plan is the sale may not be quite so traumatic. Finally does American money move the dial.

Genuine questions because I don't have a clue and as such likely to change my mind on a whim.

Agree with this in terms of maximising the value, given January is inflated for prices. If we are out of the promotion running, then he'll go in the summer anyway so may as well let him go, but only if it's clear we're not going anywhere.

This whole story may be a complete crock of, but it does always seem we are on the receiving end of things like this.

We only hear or guess one side of it though I suppose.

Was talking to a gala fan on the weekend who basically knew everything about Sainz and how they’d been tracking him, and how awesome Sara has been for them, and how they look at Norwich as a bit of a feeder club (Rashica was a flop, they were after Pukki).

This will happen.

January is approaching and I agreed to have some time on leave until the next transfer window. I’ve been known at the Fozzy Flick of transfer rumours. Heard I can pull off something spectacular but rare to be seen again. Who knows could I pull off another?

There are 18 points to play for between now and January, I imagine those will inform if we'd entertain a January sale.

I doubt. If Sainz wants off, then off he goes. Anatole said something about 'being fair' in regard to players leaving. It will merely be a case of getting the best price for him, as having a player denied the chance to treble (?) his wages and pick up a handsome signing on fee will be the best person around the club.

It will not be our league position that determines whether he leaves, but the offer made to him by another club - and whether that club matches our value of him.
