I think it's a combination of things. Liverpool finding great form to already go 9 points clear at the top. An aging Man City squad in general. The injury to Rodri who is arguably the best player in world football and hugely missed. The loss in form of certain players like Grealish and De Bryne. The 115 financial charges hanging over the head of the club bringing huge uncertainty. The inability to now spend money in the market due to financial restructions. The fact that they've never experienced poor form like this before also. Intense media and social media pressure.

I'd also imagine there to be quite a few deflated egos in that dressing room blaming each other.

It’s neither 6 nor 7 ‘loses’ in a row…3-3 in their last outing before today does not count as a defeat, however much it felt like one!

Should put our travails into perspective when we were missing Gunn, Nunez, Sargent and McLean (and also Barnes, so we had no striker). Would also say this isn't quite the shocking view of the back-ups as by definition, back-ups are kinda there to not be too much weaker so if you only have to replace one or so, the team still works well.

The problem we had was we had to put half a new team out, so no wonder it wasn't gelled!

The football played by Man City is very high risk and unless absolutely everyone in the team can pull it off both physically and technically then gaps will start appearing.

Yes, yes it is. A mate who's  a Manure fan texted me during the match, saying ' how long will City's owners put up with this?'...he was loving it . I then pointed out just how relentless and dominant Liverpool are at the moment, he'd forgotten, in his delight that it was Liverpool that Man City were  playing,  one dislike outstripping another, temporarily.   That Pi553d on his fireworks alright. Slot is everything that Ten Hag wasn't, warm, funny and hate to say it, almost instantly  likeable. I'm sure I'll get to dislike him if they end up dominant for a few seasons, but for the moment I'm enjoying the disruption to Man City's smug success.  

Side note. Man City's( other clubs are available) use of the early tactical foul must have been discussed by the Refs during the closed season, Bernado Silva and KdB in particular were exponents of this, Foden too,seen as ' nice guys' they were the ideal men to commit an early foul disrupting any chance of counter attack.  They are , this season , being booked for it. Well done refs. Not that I wouldn't want Borja to ankle tap an oppo if he was getting away 😇

This is karma after years of Man City enjoying cheated millions of Arab injections of money.  Pep even planning his exit, sacked in the morning, without him they will struggle to maintain victory parade.  What a shame.
