It's not been the defence today, two howlers from midfielders caused both Luton goals today.

Itā€™s not so much the defence, but the style of play and tactic. We play too much in dangerous areas.. toĀ draw the press and counter at speed. It requires super technical players to carry it out, and we donā€™t have enough of them.

If we stop setting up Luton goals we would be quite comfortable here. Slimane with the assist in the first half and was it Kenny putting it on a plate by passing it neatly across his own goal face? Ridiculous.Ā

We create opportunities at both ends...Ā

JHT needs to get that all-important balance between attack and defence right, we are scoring plenty but need to be far tighter at the back.

Whilst I agree. I will take this all day, every day over the Hughton style. Even if we lose, it feels like we've "had a go".

Totally this. Our defenders just arenā€™t up to silky play with the ball at the back. We end up giving the ball away on the edge of our box far too much just by the opposition applying even a medium bit of pressureĀ

Defensively this is just not good enough.Ā
Ā

Stacey has been great going forward but twice now Moses has had acres down that wing and Stacey has been 40 yards away up the pitch just jogging back.Ā
Ā

nobody scores ā€œgoodā€ goals against us. Just gifts or scrappy efforts where the ball should have been cleared.Ā

Maybe we should play Stacey as right winger and put fisher as RB again

Absolutely, great VFM

I know he's a great defender and tackler, but I would change Fisher for Crissenne now as we lack attacking creativity down the left hand side, especially when Borja goes wandering.Ā

JHT said a while ago that his favourite result was 1-0. Not much sign of that at the moment.

I donā€™t think itā€™s a balance thing. Itā€™s not like we are being sliced open as we are all charging forward (apart from Stacey at times). Itā€™s suicidal sloppy passes in our own half and playersĀ not clearing the ball when they should do.Ā

Got an assist but that was a waste of an hour having Forson in that position, largelyĀ

This was always the problem in the Farke era. 'We' ll score one more than you'.Ā

You can't expect success from achieving attacking prowess by sacrificing solidity. It's a cheap gain.Ā

Would argue "take Stacey off, move Fisher right, put Chrisene left", personally.

We're not winning this today, not with a David Coote apostle with the whistle.

Our defending has cost us far more than the refĀ

We have to stop letting them make us static with the ball at the back. Every time leads to us giving it away. Move it bl**dy quicker.Ā

Duffyā€™s passing has been awful at times today. Needs to just do the most basic thing, gets way ahead of himselfĀ

I've been impressed by Marcondes generally. I had no opinion of him before he joined, he took a few games to get up to speed - to be expected - but he's been good since.

No team thatā€™s all about playing out from the back, with Duffy in defence, is getting promoted. Itā€™s that simple.Ā

Might see a few yellow cards now he's fulfilled his no Luton bookings before 70 minutes order from his Chinese betting ring.

Hughton was an inverted Farke/Thorup. All the focus on defence and expecting the forwards to sort goals out for themselves.Ā

Snodgrass and Gutierrez and a slow meandering counter was completely the wrong supply line for RvW/Hooper.Ā

We need tactics which represent a set of balanced scales, not an anvil on one side and a feather on the other

So careless at the back, this has to be dealt with by Thorup and RidderholmĀ

I'm confident they'll get it right. Their tenure is still in its infancy.
