Sainz - will we keep him?

The Delaware Capitalists will sell and they will use Napper to do their bidding.

The money received will not stop Norwich City conceding goals because Norwich fans think that you can win the league by winning every game 4-3 and the board's strategy concurs wth this.

The club's vision is completely flawed by its strategy. To sustain a place in the EPL you must comply with two essentials:

1. The Forest Rule.

2. Prove that you can defend. If you cannot do so in the Championship then instant relegation awaits in the EPL.

End of.

Well you can win the league if you win every game 4-3 😂

172 goals scored? Yes please!

Some people would probably moan about the goal bonuses we were paying out tho!

Well I can think of one! He will moan about other things as well!

That's the sort of category I would have put Sainz's in after watching him all last season, I don't think anyone could have predicated that he would have kicked on the way he has. In don't think when we signed him we expected to get a player who would be scoring 15 goals before December from the wing, everything I saw of him last season suggested a good Championship player who might develop into someone who could play in the PL when he hits 26/27 or his peak so within that category you are talking about.

I know what you mean though about signing players who can develop into key players for us and not outgrow us after 2 seasons but I think with Crisene, Forson, Crnac etc we have a few that look like they fit into that category...unless they really kick on like Sainz has but it wouldn't be a bad thing so long as we can keep signing good young players to replace them.

I could be totally wrong on this, but weren't we playing Sainz on the right for a while?

He really didn’t think that through,  winning 4-3 is in fact better than winning one nil , as after goal  difference, comes goals, scored , but if we'd won every game , by whatever score , it wouldn't be an issue. Vince clutching at straws as we improve.

Going by the Attanasio interview post AGM, they won’t entertain any bids for Sainz in Jan. The Summer though…

I don't think that he quite said that, rather than we have no need to sell him. No suggestion that we won't sell him or any others should suitable bids come in.

Attanasio said and I paraphrase here: “we don’t need to sell him and we think he owes us a bit more time at Norwich given the opportunity and time we’ve given him”.

Sainz didn’t set the world on fire last season, sure he’s having a blinder this season but Championship history is full of “one season wonders”, there’s not a chance that anyone would offer more money for Sainz than he’s worth to us right now keeping us in the hunt for top 6.

But that's not what you said:

'they won’t entertain any bids for Sainz in Jan.'

It's just you view that nobody will offer the money that might make a bid acceptable to Norwich, particularly as Sainz will only have a year left on his contract come the end of this season.

Galatasaray have held talks according to this. Hopefully it’s ****e.

“EXCLUSIVE - Galatasaray held a meeting with Borja Sainz's manager today to exchange ideas”

https://x.com/galahabernet/status/1863218923581190378?s=46&t=12k3jEugNq5vxKFcnDRw6g

“While Norwich wanted 30 million euros for Sara, the transfer was completed for a total price of 23 million euros, with a transfer fee of 18 million euros in installments and a bonus of 5 million euros.

The exact figure they gave to the player's representative for Sainz, without commas or fractions: 22 million euros.

Sainz has agreed to come to Galatasaray without even discussing the salary and he really wants to. Sainz's representative has stated that his player's mood has become very positive since he heard about the interest.

Due to Norwich's asking price, this deal may never start, or if the 22 million demand drops when asked again in the coming weeks, a flirtation period may be entered.”

It's a real shame we're extremely unlikely to see Sainz in a Norwich shirt in the EPL.

Even if we did pull off promotion this season, I can't see him staying. Like Emi.

Be mad to sell him on promotion, we’ve already seen the result of that.

Mainly because I don’t see a top PL club going for him. As much as I rate him there’s not many that make the leap from Championship straight to that level.

He'd have 12 months left on his contract though. It'd either be sign a new one or sell him, and if he thinks he could get a better deal elsewhere, our hands would be tied.

You'd hope we'd be able to convince him to sign a new deal if we went up- even if it's just a couple of extra games with a reasonable release clause if we did go down.
