Today's presser: injury update

Recommended Posts

Cordoba needs rest and recovery for inflammation in his knee; hoping for him to be back for the QPR game.

Confirmed that tomorrow is too soon for Nunez. He was part of full team training today for the first time. Still on course to play against Luton.

Barnes should be fit to play about 20-25 minutes tomorrow.

Gunn, Gibbs and Onel are all fine after their comebacks from injury on Saturday. No further injury concerns.

Chrisene under consideration to start at LB tomorrow with Fisher suspended.

No mention of Slimane, so one assumes he must be OK after limping off right at the end?

What about Kenny McLean or is it just an assumption he is back from suspension tomorrow ?

I assume he is back.

Source; It's been three games since he was suspended I think unless he was banned for four in which case ignore me

He injured his pointing arm during his suspension and is out for six weeks.

Consider it done.

More seriously, he was banned for three for the red + one for abusing the ref and has served all four of them.

Slimane was confirmed as cramp post game Saturday .

Good news, thanks – I had clearly missed that detail!

Add can't count to his many faults.

Does this mean you like me? Here's a hint; I do love an Italian meal by candlelight.

Or Disney films?

@TIL 1010 – he did talk about Kenny being back from suspension too, and how integral to the team he is. He'll be back in the team for sure.

I think he is still walking a yellow card tightrope for the next few games, though.

Do you (or anyone) know when the one-game ban for five yellows resets? I think it used to be the start of March, but that might be wide of the mark...

After 19 matches. So he’s got to stay out of trouble for the next 3 games.

Cheers. Doyle and Nunez also on four yellows, according to WhoScored.com – so they're on the precipice too. Slimane and Duffy have three apiece, so they'd get a ban if they pick up two in the next three games.

Indeed, need to rotate the fouls.

BTW, the cutoff for a ban for 10 yellows is 37 games, which this season is mid-March so that might be what you were thinking of?

So we're a yellow card for Dolan away from being back to Duffy and Hanley 😉

Seriously though we're going to have to manage Nunez very carefully. I hope he's fully healed but hamstring injuries have a habit of reoccurring.

Should have started Nunez at WBA, but with him refusing to leave the centre circle (we'd have to engineer WBA kicking off). Yellow card and then the first time the ball is out of play, sub him off.

Indeed - not sure if this is readable, but taken from the FA; PL ‘rules’ at the top, EFL in the next grouping in red.

I think if you get 20 bookings you get a bit of a bollocking and a pretty long ban!

Edit, sorry Mr A, I failed to see your post with a link!

Kenny back tomorrow hopefully means back to winning ways. If he gets a yellow tomorrow or Saturday worth a couple of hundred quid on Luton or is it QPR as a win without Kenny would be as rare as @essex canary praising the Norwich board.
