Yep, Sargent cost similar but had a better pedigree having played at a higher level, was signed for the Prem not the Champs and was played out of position all season. 

Admittedly Crnac has played out of position today but that's why I said he should be out on the right.

Gordon has looked WAY off the level. I don’t really get why we signed him when we already have a bunch of attacking kids with potential who aren’t good enough to start.

Point away is always good. Possibly could have won it with Sainz couple of chances not taken, but he was never going to keep up the sort of ridiculous level of exceeding his xG.

Indeed! Seems some on here want to repeat exactly what they did with Idah. He's a young man in a foreign country struggling for form. He needs encouragement, not a constant and utterly pointless slagging off.

I think people are making excuses. He cost a significant amount of money at this level and should be providing immediate impact as such. Plus he patently isn’t no9 cover anyhow, and we clearly needed that. It’s a poor signing so far

Wasn't able to watch the game but the stats seem positive - athletic says we had the higher xg despite one of our goals being an own goal and West Brom having lots more shots.

I've never posted negatively about Crnac, and I'm not giving up on him long-term, but after today I think he should just be bench material for the rest of this season, at least until we're clearly not going up, not going down, and we want to give young players experience for next season. It's not just the miss (after all Borja again proved his ability to score wonder goals but waste much much easier opportunities), but if he (Crnac) was playing understudy for the Sargent role, he failed miserably. Despite what looks like great physicality, I can't remember a single fifty-fifty he won in midfield in those situations where Sargent excels, somehow using his awkward body to make himself a nightmare of a nuisance. Crnac looks like a statue and unfortunately at the moment he has the flexibility of a statue. He's already had about fifty times the opportunity that some others players were given and he shows zero signs of improvement.

The usual suspects slagging Crnac off, slagged him off too. Young players need encouragement, especially those making their way in a foreign country. What people think is gained by such nasty criticism, I really do not comprehend.
