Hanley and McLean both start for Scotland

Recommended Posts

But, but I thought the Scottish managers (who clearly are at the pinnacle of managerial excellence), unlike Farke, Smith, Wagner and Thorup, recognised that Kenny is rubbish? 🤔

He is rubbish, just a lot less rubbish than the other midfielders! 😉

Much like the poster, I believe the much loved and departed @lappinitup, who kept a current list of all of Waveneys alter egos, I must make record of all the managers and coaches and ex and current players who rate Kenny, vs a few NCFC fans on the pinkun.com who don't 😅

I must agree, can’t believe he’s never been snapped up by top flight teams! 🤪 he’s so good how hasn’t he gone to established premier teams, I’m amazed the likes of West Ham, Brighton or Bournemouth haven’t snapped him up!

West Ham wanted him. Leeds wanted him. But of course, all our managers since he's been here have wanted him too.

But I'm sure some guys who've not so much as watched a professional football training session know much better than the long list of managers, coaching teams and players that see him day in day out 🫡🫡

Yes I heard Liverpool wanted him too! How he’s stayed here so long is a mystery! Must have been Delias buns! 😂

Given that Hanley can't get a game for us and McLean is in the middle of a four-game ban, it's a good thing that they're both starting for Scotland so they maintain a bit of match fitness. It's usually the other way round when the international break comes round.

As for Kenny, it still amuses me that some people decided five years he wasn't good enough and are so stubborn they refuse to admit that he's been of our best players for the last two years.

I watched some of the game and it was spoilt by red card. Scotland were largely very poor, especially Gilmour who had a bit of a stinker from what I saw. Kenny was a bit quiet, some good some very bad touches. He didn't look comfortable changing from our system to Scotland's.

The problem for Scotland is they don't have a decent striker otherthan when McTominay is pushed forward, which left them light in midfield.

Brilliant cross from Hanley for the winner.  Both Norwich lads played the full match. Brilliant performance.  Gilmour was great too!   [Edit: Guardian says cross was by Souttar.  Grant still played well]
