Non football is no more, Connor the goner has swung the axe.

So favourite films, film suggestions, new films you've watched. Obscure films no one may know about, ALL CHRISTMAS FILMS!! any and everything film related...

My favourite genre is horror. Absolutely love it.

Exorcist, The conjuring and The Shining are my top 3!

Of all time my top 5 are....

1. Deadpool and wolverine

2. The Dark knight ( recently pushed down one by D&W )

3. Exorcist

4. Armageddon

5. Wolf of wall street.

For new films I recommend The bike riders, Terrifier 3 ( if you've seen the first 2 and enjoy them, if not then don't ) and the heretic!

Christmas film you have to see is Spirited, Ryan Reynolds and Will ferrel, absolutely fantastic take on the Scrooge story. My favourite Xmas film so far.... Pushing down an older one that I'm pretty sure is a hallmark film but the story and acting is up there with any major film release, called - Every other holiday.

Now. Go!

As good a film as I rememver watching at the cinema...but one of those films that can only be that good  at the first time of watching before the ending is revealed.

Vividly remember seeing it on release in a packed cinema. No one left at the end as the credits rolled (strikingly in the opposite direction to normal): the whole audience just blown away. Such a great movie.

When I think about this i'm amazed how many of the older films that I like:

The Apartment - Great film, some class it as one for Christmas if anyone's looking for something different.

Buffalo 66 - There's something about this I've always loved, think it's the cinematography.

West World - Watched this as a kid and it terrified and intrigued me.  Still find it a bit uneasy today.

Rear Window - Classic film, great idea, brilliant and draws you in.

How the west was won - Outside of Eastwood/Leone I'm not a fan of westerns but loved this, there's something about it and the film used.

Then the classics I remember as a kid such as Goonies, ET, Ghostbusters etc. they are all special.

There's just so many great films, but i can't stand a lot of the modern CGI based films we get served up today, the more modern marvel/dc action films I can't stand.  I liked the Dark Knight though (Heath Leger brilliant), and The Watchmen, but I read the books so much when I was younger.

On a different tangent my friend took his girlfriend to watch the film Crash, anyone remember that?  People were walking out, and she thought he was an oddball, apparently it's pretty disgusting.

I missed it, haven't seen it in years, but if I remember correctly during banjos wasn’t one of them a guitar?

Series I found really good, lacks the eerie-ness feeling of the original, and is goes a bit too high-techy in places.

But once you understand the concept it does get good, and if you're watching with someone else it certainly raises some interesting questions as there's a lot in there to unpack as you watch.

Horror films used to be our Sunday evening staple in the 60's.

Played football on Saturday afternoons, bowling in the evening at Bexleyheath, then Sunday evening cinema in Eltham. (That was before someone said we might actually meet some girls if we went dancing).

Can remember The Blob, The Crawling Hand, Day of the Triffids and all the Hammer Horror films with Peter Cushing and Vincent Price.

My favourite was probably Curse of the Werewolf with Oliver Reed - the only one where you actually felt sorry for the werewolf! 60 years later and I still find myself checking the rooftops on nights of the full moon.
