Questions for the AGM

Recommended Posts

Bearing in mind the number of football experts who frequent this site what is considered to be the most relevant question to be asked at the AGM this week. Perhaps to set the ball rolling could I mischievously suggest :- Mr A are you going to lob in another £30m or so to strengthen the squad - if the rules allow - or are we to continue to be a selling club !!

What a silly comment. Every club sells players.

Who's idea was it to not recruit another out and put number 9?

When we only have a main striker made out of rice paper, and another whose boots came out of the arc.

" Selling club " - otherwise known as every single club is the universe of football.

even Mars masons sold their star player - Gorak 5 to Venus vets in the summer FFS!

The AGM is primarily a financial rather than football meeting.

With that in mind, the only question is why did an original short term loan of £30m turn into a £70m debt that couldn't be repaid? And why is the woman responsible still in the room?

My questions so far:

1). Who made the decision to extend Long's contract by 3 years. In our structure is this a decision made by committee, the head coach, or the Sporting Director.

2). Was any attempt made to bring in an additional striker to replace Idah. Clearly that player wasn't Crnac because he's being used on the right wing. If no attempt was made to bring in an additional striker, who determined that Sargent and Barnes would be sufficient this year, knowing that Barnes had been out injured since May and Sargeant has a long record of picking up injuries.

3). Any chance some of the caterers in trucks outside the stadium on matchday can move inside for half-time? Because the clubs grub is sh1t.

Can we get hooks on the inside of ALL toilet doors?

And can veterans and serving British forces staff get discounted tickets to thank them every week rather than just in November?

Yes in theory that's true. But finance at Carrow Road was rarely discussed in depth as there was usually no good news on the subject and Delia's stock answer was always she was primarily a Cook and a Supporter and not a financial expert. For me questions from the floor have always been the highlight of the meeting.

Pity then that Delia didn't continue to engage financial experts beyond Bowkett.

So Ed Balls the former lead economic writer for the Financial Times, economic advisor for Gordon Brown when Brown was chancellor, Chief economic advisor to the Treasury, and eventually shadow chancellor of the exchequer, isn't a financial expert because some two-bob management accountant from Attleborough sez so? Right.

"Do you intend to take the club private?"

And the follow-up question is:

"Yes, thank you, but do you intend to take the club private?"🤩

How would you generally evaluate the Value for Money delivered by politicians?

To be fair though the £75 million deficit on P&L has occurred over the last 6 years so I maybe doing him a disservice.

Let us take them 1 by 1 shall we to pad out the 2 hours. That has seemed to be the standard of late which explains everything to the Lieutenant's satisfaction (or maybe not as the case maybe)?

It will be padded out to two hours by the Chair telling you to shut up and sit down every 5 minutes.

If that's the case then we need to understand if and what investment is planned to strengthen the playing squad, or are we relying on sales for this?

What was the rationale to spend most of the transfer budget on one player (Crnac) but leave us short of a back-up striker and no effective right winger?

What is Knapper's latest plan to get us back to the Premier League and what timescales?

The Chair should have received and reviewed all questions with his colleagues before the meeting and rehearsed the answers to ensure all Board Members present a united front.

A New Chair is needed.
