Ken Aries 0 Posted April 15, 2006 I read in today''s Daily Mirror that Joe Royle has been given the ultimatum by Sheepdip to take Ipswich to promotion next season or ship out. Similarly, Wolves are turning the screw on Hoddle. Wolves chief executive Jez Moxey, launched a scathing attack on Hoddle for his failure to reach the play-offs. Moxey said: "It has to be said that most of us feel that this season has been a complete disaster. I am speaking from the heart and for everyone at Wolves when I say that we are devastated at finishing outside the play-offs." A slightly different attitude to those in control at "little old Norwich", don''t you think? I can''t imagine any of those sort of words coming from Delia or any of her cohorts at present, can you? Prudence with zero ambition!
Matthew Quinn 0 Posted April 15, 2006 I would like to think that whilst backing him in public the board are telling him in private that hes under pressure to deliver. If that isn''t the case then the board are pretty clueless.
3pmkickoff 0 Posted April 15, 2006 I read that too and it was more a case of The Mirror making more out of a story than it actually was. There wasn''t really an ultimatum in there, Moxey done himself no favours either but then that''s what Wolves do and that''s why they''ll always fail

They have blown their chance. This is why they wish to change manager... apparantly he has been playing very negative tactics this season. This is what is going to be happening at norwich next season...... when your no 1 summer signing is Andy Hughes you know there is a serious problem with your transfer policy.... LinkNR9 0 Posted April 15, 2006 To be fair to Royal (not easy, I know!) he''s had virtually nothing to spend in the transfer / loan market. Contrast that to Worthington''s resources and BFJ has done very well, all things considered.
Ken Aries 0 Posted April 15, 2006 I''m well aware of the fact that there was a little bit of exaggeration in those Mirror stories, after all, when don''t the tabloids use hyperbole? But I just thought, there''s Mr Royle with a fraction of the transfer funds that our muppet has had to waste, and he''s still under a certain amount of pressure to bring success to Ipswich. Whereas our man seems to be untouchable at the moment. At the same time you cannot argue with the words that Moxey was quoted as saying as regards Wolves position in the table. Incidentally, if Ipswich were to dismiss Royle, I''d gladly take him as a replacement for Worthless.
Syteanric 1 Posted April 15, 2006 Royal almost took the scummers to the playoffs, and beat us.. with a team full of youth players...1. Worthy doesnt use Youth2. Worthy spends money on crap...Id sooner have Joe Royle here as our manager to be fair.. his track record is good, he can use whats at his disposal to grind out results, he isnt afraid to use kids, or to change it when its going wrong.,.. they will finish above us this season and do well next im ashamed to say... I also have to say that to seome extent i envy them... they might have less money and a plonker of a chairman but they have a dam good manager who is taking them in the right direction and with a bit more time will take them back up.jas :)

Rudolph Hucker 0 Posted April 15, 2006 And if Worthington had been manager at Leeds, who he so admires, he would have been receiving hate mail long ago so it seems.Much better at Costa Del Canary!
