Just wanted to bide my time before responding to this, he’s, in my opinion an out and out centre forward who can if required operate out wide (think your stats showed that) he’s shown in the last two games his quality in that role, 3 goals, 2 assists and a goal saving block to boot not sure why they played Marcondes there over him v Bristol but happy to leave it to JHT im struggling to remember another player I’ve seen who strikes the ball like he does
Wacky Waving Inflatable Arm Flailing Tube Man 4,726 Posted December 1, 2024 Largely off topic, but I've mentioned on here a few times that I follow Lecce as well as Norwich, and I have to say, these Croatian forwards called Ante really have made my weekend:

I am always struck by fans who judge by what they want to see, which on this board tends to be 442, big man up top, 2 speedy chalk on the boots wide men, a CDM destroyer etc etc and anything else falls short. Plenty were willing to give Crnac pelters while he was doing a decent job on the right in a 433, now we are not supposed to judge because he has 3 goals and an assist in the past four days. He is obviously a very diligent, hard working and technically capable striker. This was pretty obvious from the get go. Technically reminds me of Chris Sutton, aware ,tidy, no great pace but decent all round. If he is seen as Idahs replacement, we got the better end of the deal, methinks. Wonder if he can play centre half in an emergency.

Good point, and if he is half the player Sutton was we have a bargain.

I hadn't realised he'd lost his only ground duel, but that does help reinforce my view that he had a pretty poor match - I'd be surprised if the West Brom centre backs had had an easier game to that point in the season. I do think he's a talented young player, particularly currently suited to facing the goal rather than with his back to it. But I maintain we don't yet know what calibre of player we've got for the (record for us in the Champs) fee. So I think the club has pretty high expectations of him for both now and in the future - Hoff has intimated as much - and I'll be as delighted as the next fan if he fulfills them. So much so that, in addition to my current Pups pledge, I'll pay a fiver for every game against teams in the current top 6 in which he scores, if you do the same if he doesn't. That's 8 games, £40 between us, and I hope I pay the lot.

Far too much focus on the price tag, felt more a dig at the Sporting director.
