essex canary 621 Posted November 2 A little ironic that this is reported by Coventry given their charges when we went there in August.

TIL 1010 5,242 Posted November 3 (edited) Sky Blue Army to benefit as 'unanimous approval' sees EFL set to follow Premier League away ticket cap If away tickets become more affordable to fans this will reflect in Membership schemes being used more to satisfy possible increased demand. Appreciate the link 😉 There's no reason why loyalty schemes, as opposed to paid memberships, couldn't be used to deal with increased demand, though. Personally I'm happy to pay for away membership as a way of contributing to the club. But it's hard not to see it as a money making exercise. Edited November 3 by Robert N. That would be a recipe for charging higher memberships to compensate lower ticket prices. Let the Club's service it without charge aside from things like automated posting where they incur a direct charge.

Season tickets will go up. Edited November 3 by Graham Paddons Beard
GMF 1,007 Posted November 3 I find this a fascinating debate. If a club has to allocate a percentage of its capacity to away fans, who’re paying a discounted rate in comparison to home fans, are those same fans willing to compensate their own club for the loss of ticket revenue?

The answer should be the home fans charge rates should be driven down accordingly. They already are in relation to Season Tickets (assuming they attend most matches) though clearly not casual Home Fans.
TIL 1010 5,242 Posted November 4 Just take a look at ticket prices for the game at QPR which went on sale at 9.30am this morning. £38 for adults and £28 for coffin dodgers which for some reason starts at the age of 63. A total of 4 different sections of the upper deck available with two already sold out.

Those prices are unfairly high especially if the visitors were, say, Preston. London old codgers always get better deals for everything particularly Transport relative to old codgers in the rest of the country. Why? Why should a Norwich fan living in Norwich who is willing to travel to Sheffield on a Tuesday night be obliged to buy an Away Membership to get his ticket for QPR or otherwise be faced with being displaced by London based fans who wouldn't dream of travelling to Sheffield? There’s basically no difference at QPR anyway. It’s also sold because the top tier is not that big. I assume that later on they’ll give us the lower tier as well-at least that is what they usually do.
