***Official Lapps match thread - Cardiff v City***

Recommended Posts

Incredibly negative tactics got what they deserved. Very poor from our midfield, unable to string two passes together.

Lack of depth did us. Possibly needed the fresh legs as the likes of Sörensen hadn't played much, but it went wrong after that.

Yes, I think the league is so intense now you more or less have to use all your resources.

We just don't really have those resources at the moment. Just couldn't keep the ball in the last few minutes.

Disappointing and no doubt the subs hurt us.  However,  Sorensen had played 30 mins of football all season before this match,  so was no doubt blowing.  Fisher was a red card waiting to happen.   Those two needed to come off and I don't blame JHT. I do question the quality of Forson and if there was a better option than Hanley to provide an outlet up top.

I’m so angry with that.

Sainz probably can’t wait to leave.

Why the hell does Thorup feel compelled to make wholesale changes, especially when a game is tight. He did it at Derby and we nearly threw that away.

Absolutely pointless and amateurish concession of 3 points. Fuming.

Very good for much of the game but that one is on JHT. I like him a lot but too many changes today and Hanley and Forson should not be on the pitch.
Lost to the worst side I’ve seen us play.

Undeserved defeat…..

However, the game was potentially lost once Hanley and Forson entered the arena……

Well, that was disappointing but not unexpected after all those changes.

Suddenly a 'hard to beat' Norwich with 6 points from 12 turned into a 'poor form' Norwich with no wins and just 3 points in 12.

Still a tranformational season imho though and happy with the drama and fun we are creating.

Angus Gunn. 9 conceded in 7.5 games.

George Long. 16 conceded in 6.5 games including the cup (8 in 4.5 in the league).

Not all his fault today, he didnt have much to do and not sure he could have done much about the goals (first maybe was suspect as it looked like he had time to react but thats probably harsh) but **** me, the stats don't lie. He is a problem.

Shot ourselves in the foot today with the subs when we didn't need to.

Over thought it. We were on top. Invited Cardiff to attack us and stopped playing our way

Exactly this - we went far too defensive at the end and gave Cardiff the midfield after Lungi went off, Hanley past it and forson too slow and lightweight

People angry when no changes made. People angry when changes are made. Evidently no way to win as a manager 😂.

That said, we definitely threw that away but still, I would have taken a draw with a team where we're missing so many first teamers.

Can’t believe people piling in on JHT .

Yes he made mistakes today and yes probably cost is the game.

But like many of the players he is young and just learning about the English game.

Done way more  right than wrong this season and I have no doubt we will continue to improve under him.

keep the faith!!

You can't defend a 1 goal lead. It almost always backfires
