I cannot believe Long is being hammered again on here.

Genuinely believe if we had a player who had a game like that binner yesterday, was it Clarke? You'd get people on here avidly defending his performance.

Long's howler let Boro back in, Doyle and Slimane's ineptitude has knocked us out.

Two seasons in a row that Gunn gets an injury, Long goes in goal and it all seems to turn to sh1t.

Is it a lack of trust in him so the defence turns to turd?

It's exactly this

45 minutes to retrieve it!!

Think that’s harsh it looks like a game too many and it just shows we don’t have much squad depth. Really missing Gunn and Nunez and probably Barnes in my opinion.

I cannot believe Long is being hammered again on here. Any chance you could all look at the midfield which is completely non-existent? Or the defence which is all over the place? Slimane not taking down Doak for their second when the whole world could see he should have; Doyle being completely outplayed by Doak all half and no one covering; Cordoba and Duffy not picking up Conway in the box.

Thorup has to move Fisher across and bring on Chrisene, take Cordoba off; take Crnac off and get another body in the middle.

We can still get something here.

Absolutely should not take Cordoba off but we need to move Doyle from left back

Let’s be honest we are playing for a year unbeaten at home. It’s got along come Norwich all over it.

And the reason Long is being hammered is because their equaliser completely changed the game. We were well on top before that.

So the fact that their only striker is completely unmarked 4 yards from our goal is not a feature in who is to blame for you? Yes, he should have stopped that one, but neither the second or third were down to him - and he has made several decent saves. Facing 7 shots on target in 45 minutes at home is not his fault.

The first is indefensible. And honestly, as others have pointed out, he has to either hold the ball (difficult) or push the ball out for a corner for the 3rd.. not a mistake.. but a better keeper probably does one of those.

Anyway, let’s hope we turn it around eh 🤞

But competent keepers push that round the post... how is him failing to do that, and giving it to the striker on a plate not his fault?

So, we let them take a shot from range, we are not marking the or closing down the rebound and we totally - and i mean totally - switch off as Duffy ball watched and let the man walk past him for a tap in and it's Long's fault?

I repeat myself. He's sh*t but let's not use confirmation bias to blame every single problem on him. The first, absolutely his fault, the rest, not really.

We need to defend our box better, for sure, but in the case of the 3rd Boro goal it's something we've seen Long concede from before. It's a confirmed weakness of his and IMO avoidable by most Championship keepers.

He's far from the only problem today.

He's not the only problem, but he is by far the biggest problem.

Also, lets break it down, why does the shot come in? Cuz the entire team have piled into the box and dont close it down... i wonder if the fact that they cant trust the keeper who has conceded yet another howler, plays any part in them staying in the box and not defending aggressively...

Having said that, it does look like he's gone 3 at the back, but that means Sainz is wingback?

Looks like Marcondes to me.

I agree that he's the biggest problem that we have. I don't agree that he was the biggest problem in that goal/

We really lack pace. Crnac starting to look tidy but he’s not quick. Nor really is Gordon. I was hoping he would be the pace option.

It's the first thing you teach a kid when coaching them to be a goalkeeper. You never parry it into the area. The shot was at a distance where he had time to react and push it round the post. He didn't. If he pushes it round the post, none of the rest mayters because it can't be a goal.

The Hoff been  shown how to do attacking play today -  teams are now working out the Hoff style and one  our weakness I believe is that  when we go forward in a block,,-one pass behind this block and we are in trouble

Football is a matter of opinions. We agree to differ. I think the first goal aside, which is absolutely his fault,  the rest is not his and if it was Gunn, nobody even mentions it.

Probably cuz if it's Gunn, it doesn't happen 😂

I was fearful about this game because all the stats say Boro create the most good chances in the league. With the joker in goal that was always a worry..
