At least a season. He's been told to get a younger team through, re-establish the pathway for promising youngsters to get into the first team that Webber and Farke had built between them. That means inconsistency as players look like they get the idea but are still learning what pro football is really like and therefore face different challenges.

Too many forget that regardless of vocation, progress is rarely - if ever - linear.

And let's face it, it took Farke three transfer windows before he got the beautiful stuff that spoiled us in those two Championship-winning seasons he came up with out of nowhere.

At the game and posting on the pinkun forums. Embarrassing.

Who posts on here when actually at the match! We’re all a bit sad talking to strangers but that’s strange.

I don't think we were awful today; we were a moment of considerable misfortune away from a clean sheet on the road and Sainz seemingly forgetting how to play football stopped us getting another impressive away win.

You can't really blame the above two factors on Thorup.

He might need to make a big call on McLean though if he has too many games like that.

Slightly more possession, slightly more chances. A pretty tight Championship match decided by an unfortunate own goal.

Clearly the new attacking players (Forson, Schwartau, Crnac) will take time to acclimatise, it did look a bit disjointed in the final third which was disappointing.

As to how long we give him, at least 12 games until we start looking at things in the round. And unless we're in the bottom six and sinking, we absolutely give him the season.

Patience is a virtue in short supply among some Norwich fans, and while there is no guarantee that Thorup will come good a la Farke, a complete overhaul of the playing style and age profile of the squad is something that's extremely unlikely to click immediately.

This. We have started a new project. The only reason to abandon it is if we look in serious danger of relegation in the spring.

To be fair, it's rough when your team loses, especially if you made that long and dreadful journey. But even in the best-case scenario there will be many disappointing days this season. Important not to over react to them, beyond the natural post-match letting off of steam.

Yeah, absolutely. Waveney was up at 5am to travel across the country to watch us, so he's totally entitled to have a vent, even if it is a bit of an overreaction! Big props to everyone who made the journey today, disappointing result but hardly 'the players should refund the fans who travelled Nayul' territory!

I've already written this season off as a non event tbh. Probably not great value for money in terms of my season ticket, but it's always a social thing for me anyway.

Luckily I had better things to do today so didn't even bother to watch.

How long would I give him? Two seasons. Barring a relegation, he deserves time.

I’m reassured that people are back to ranting about how inept it was this week. This is the first game I’ve had a chance to see for myself all the way through this season and I thought it was poor; if anyone was making comments similar to the last few weeks I’d be worried.

Just write it off as a bad day at the office.

with regard to the OP’s question, I give him the season, unless we look in serious risk of relegation at Christmas.
