Run out music

Recommended Posts

Id rather skip it and just have the sound of the crowd chanting. We try but are drowned up by the noise. Same with the On the ball city countdown. We're halfway through it naturally then they insist on that idiot countdown. Just let the crowd be the crowd.

''Just let the crowd be the crowd'.

Amen to that. Perhaps this makes me an old Luddite but I hate being choreographed at football matches.

The paying (and the original & best one) audience seem to be becoming more and more peripheral to the whims and priorities of a different type of audience, paying and payee in type, these days.

A Premier League fixture or ten being played overseas by 2030 being one of them.

All very Americanised imo. I don't have a huge issue with it tbh and if it helps wake the crowd up then no problem. Brings a sense of occasion I suppose.

The goal music is well naff and dated though, almost cringeworthy.

For when we play the likes of Millwall and the Binners how about "Those about to die" from the album "Those about to die salute you" by the evergreen Colosseum?

Cool band. I like some of that old prog/psych stuff.

Fifty Foot Hose and Blue Phantom being particularly obscure faves of mine.

Okay it's a subject that we visit regularly on here, but has Taylor Swift come up with the answer to our run out music issues from our local HM band and celebrity fans, The Darkness?

I know that Justin Hawkins is apparently a Norwich fan, albeit one that I can't prove has ever been to a game, I feel that we need a full break down of the football team of each member of The Darkness before we consider having them as run out music, just in case any of them are closet binners.

I can prove he's been once as I saw him coming out of the ground afterwards. A fews years ago now.  Well I can't prove it but you can trust me.

Roger Taylor's kid (Queen not Duran Duran) drums for them now. I doubt he's a Norwich or Ipswich fan.

That's quite the look for Justin Whatshisface on that link - sort of like the lovechild of Johnny Depp and Kenneth Williams.

I would take the Green Day route of a singalong to Bohemian Rhapsody followed by Blitzkrieg Bop.

That certainly led to a lively atmosphere at Wembley in the summer. 🤘

I think they should play Pink Floyd's Shine On You Crazy Diamond in full.

Thinking more Suppers Ready by Genesis. With lyrics in programme.

A flower?

His dad was born in King's Lynn though!

I think to encourage unity amongst the fanbase we should have a nice rousing round of “God Save the King”

Nah, that's amateur hour. Get something by Ed Sheeran on instead.

I can’t believe I haven’t mentioned this before! My mate is in a band that does this song. It hits all the right notes for me-even if he doesn’t always hit the right notes 🤣
