Pinkun tweeted he didn't play last night for the USA due to an ankle injury. Other ankle to the one from last season.

I read it as "ankle irritation" 

It's frustrating if it keeps him out for any length of time, but it sounds to me as though they were being extra careful with him. And I imagine if it was reported to us we may have had something to say about it!

He'll be fine, understandably doesn't want to risk it given his injury record of late. Seems to be a player who will constantly need managing.

The point of our set up is we don’t need to rely on an out and out striker. Yeah it’s useful to have a Sargent / Jerome / Grabban in the Champ but I think our forward line should be able to find the net where needed. My concern is more relying on a striker. Mentally the midfield and forwards should focus on adding to the goal tally themselves

I like the sentiment but I think without Sargent we'd have looked completely toothless in all our games so far.

I dont think we do, we have Crnac who can play there. Then Kaide can take his place on the wing.

I think that, at the moment, without Sargent there is a very limited goal threat within the team. Yes, some other players will come up with the occasional goal but there is little evidence currently that anyone will produce the amount of goals lost resulting from the departure or Rowe, Sara and Idah.

No evidence so far that Crnac can replace Sargent and his role within the team. Let alone the amount of goals that Sargent scored.

That notion fell apart at Coventry though because Crnac (was ****e) was hooked at half-time.

We're relying on Josh playing 90 mins of every game. It's hell of an ask for a guy with suspect ankles.

"So far" is a couple of games during which a young man's life has been completely turned upside down. Sargent was branded all sorts of rubbish in his first season.

And my response was to the question 'Sarge injured?'. Do I have any confidence that Crnac could stand in for Sargent this weekend. My answer would still be no. My answer in two or three seasons time might be different.

I think we finally saw a fully fit Sarge today who put himself about and worked tirelessly for the side. Needs a goal, and it’ll come,  but does so much more for team and really made us click.
