Peregrine Shorts 523 Posted September 10 You’d have thought the club would allocate seats and not leave it to an unofficial unelected group

Don't ever have the misfortune of being anywhere near them and having the temerity to try and watch the match, rather than watch, laugh or join in with their antics. 'Is he Ingerand over there? Another reason I hate Hillsborough, that bloody band high up on their Kop trying to get their supporters going and failing spectacularly.
hogesar 10,709 Posted September 11 It's directly in front of me currently. I defended it for months when it was the other end of the Barclay so this is clearly Karma. Each week we've tried coming up with new reasons to convince them to move. With the rain last game I pointed out moving to the back would keep them dry and the noise would travel better. I think they feel unwelcomed now. On a serious note I can live with it but a couple around me really, really can't.

Wacky Waving Inflatable Arm Flailing Tube Man 4,580 Posted September 11 As someone who has a season ticket that is not in the Barclay, it's worth pointing out that the Barclay in general sing a lot more and the atmosphere as a whole seems better whenever the drum is there. There's no way that is a coincidence.
Greavsy 2,637 Posted September 11 I sit in the river end and don't for one minute want the drum anywhere near me. But it does seem strange that they want to improve the atmosphere so go where the atmosphere is already good. I was at Watford a few years ago and their mascot had a drum at times and went to all parts of the ground. That seemed to work better.
percy varco 253 Posted September 11 The drum is awful. It is like an annoying child on Christmas morning who has recieved a drum from a Great Aunt who rarely visits. Why should fans who may have been STH for years have to move to accomodate a group of self promoting individuals.

I appreciate what they try to do but they did make a fair few enemies at the back of E Block. And, the entourage...

I’d set fire to it if it was near me - which I know is hypocritical but me admitting it is makes me not a hypocrite right?!

East Rider 589 Posted September 12 I can hear the drum from my end of the ground (The River/morgue end) and agree it definitely improves the atmosphere. Would I want it next to me? Ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm...............................................................................................................................................................................................................NOT a F59ken CHANCE
Nexus_Canary 1,206 Posted September 13 So fair, I've always been anti drum and anti the little twunts who feel that 3 shandies and a drum maketh a man. But.... Think back to the Lambert and Farke times. The ground was bouncing we didn't need a drum and we don't. The drum forces the same 4-5 songs on repeat which destroys a fan bases spontaneity. Sure it came in when we were at our lowest in years the lot banging it were in nappies during the Lambert run. I really don't think we need it and it makes us tin pot. We can create (and have) better without it!!

The drum won't be a concern to you as i doubt you will hear it from your season ticket seat at The Abbey Stadium.
