Good result, window closed, two weeks to gel

Recommended Posts

Time to take a breath, a couple of weeks to reflect and build on what is a very difficult time at the start of a season, especially for a new coach and players. Take stock on what has been an interesting - and today fulfilling - first four games.

Saudi transfer window is early October I think. Can't see anyone leaving though unless someone agrees to terminate their contract, get paid a decent sum to move on for guaranteed football elsewhere as a free agent.

How many players do we have away on international duty?

In some ways I'd rather we kept the momentum going.

I've no idea how many under-21 internationals there are. One advantage of such a young squad could be that we suffer less from international breaks.

The transfer window in Turkey doesn't close until Sept 13th so technically we could (although unlikely) still sell players.

Not as unlikely as I thought. 😀

I would assume Nunez is still off to South America to play Argentina away on Friday night then Bolivia on Tuesday. I’d be surprised if he plays on Saturday after the travelling involved.

Him and Sarge will be back late. Quite a number of internationals now - so hopefully no injuries.
