Bobzilla 210 Posted August 28, 2024 Jeez. This Coventry trip is turning expensive. £65 for two tickets and now £18 for the parking? I hope we put on a good show. Might be in my Canary vomit shirt with my son in my 94 home kit with Robins 9 on the back. Got it about 2 months before we sold him... 😭
essex canary 630 Posted August 28, 2024 Welcome to the world of the live Norwich experience. The Coventry home fans don't do too bad though with Adult Season Tickets available for as low as £250.

No. Perhaps Coventry are encouraging their fans to walk, cycle or use Public Transport in which case they could be performing in relation to their CO2 policy. Despite that more user friendliness to Away Fans would be a good idea. How is NCFC doing on all these issues?

In case you’d forgotten there are fans of 22 other clubs in the Championship and all of them have to pay Coventry prices when they visit. Any stick, eh ? Probs quite well as I literally don't know anyone who lives near the city and doesn't walk to Carrow Road. Parking can be in non permit places if people require it, then a stroll to the ground. If someone wants to drive and pay to park at the ground it is likely out of necessity rather than anything else. If it is something else, then they have made that choice. Also you can park for the footie in numerous places and it won't cost anywhere near 18 quid. None of this really has anything to do with the club, unless people want to park outside the ground. They have a station that’s a five minute walk but has only one train an hour each way (per CCFC site) even on matchdays. Utterly ridiculous and absolute antithesis of trying to get people to use it. Well perhaps the fact that they have a city centre stadium rather than an out of town bowl for starters. Large numbers of people can simply walk to it. It is also within easy reach of the train station which serves a wide variety of destinations ( not one train an hour as in Coventry’s case) The bus station is also within walking distance. They have recently provided additional cycle racks. Anything else you would like to know?
norwich canary 171 Posted August 28, 2024 It’s not a good thing the bullying Essex gets on this site. he is a respectful fella and should be treated the same when replying. why is the ban hammer not used for constant bullying. 1
GMF 1,044 Posted August 28, 2024 Coventry City had total gate receipts of £7.1m back in 2023, for NCFC this was £10m. If anyone wants to be like Coventry, that’s £3m less revenue off the top line. Those are the commercial choices that have to be made.
K Lo 248 Posted August 28, 2024 Park in Cov, Bedworth (if you dare) or Nuneaton and get the train to the Arena (obviously depends on how many are travelling as to how much cheaper it is)... Or park further away, walk a bit longer and get some free exercise, if that's a viable option.

My Auntie lives in Foleshill, over a 30 minute walk from the ground, and they slapped parking restrictions on match days pretty much when the stadium opened. She doesn't have a car though so I've parked there and walked it in the past.

I think there have been situations where the line has been crossed with a number of posters and they just got fed up of his schtick and reply as such. Personally, it doesn't bother me. I'm not on here enough to know what was said before but I know one or two people he's annoyed personally. So yeah. Edited August 28, 2024 by BobLoz3

I used to live on Alder Meadow Close, just off Hen Lane, over the way from the Arena... that was before the ground existed and the site was old gas towers. The idea was to sell up when the ground and surrounding area had been built and was much improved but I got fed up of living and working in Cov long before the Arena was built. I knew they'd put parking restrictions on Hen Lane... it used to be park where ever you like back then.

I took my kids and nice for a stroll round the city centre on a Saturday morning in August two years ago (city of culture year) and they were shocked. They saw someone jump out of a ground floor flat window closely followed by a copper and the only people about were already on it at Wetherspoons at half 10. No shoppers. Certainly made them appreciate Norwich a lot more.

detroit94 10 Posted August 28, 2024 The best parking for Coventry from my trips there is to do a 'park on my drive' - the locals seem pretty friendly so it should not be a risky experience. Or park in city centre and get an uber

You presumably realise, but it’s maybe worth mentioning, that not one person arrested/charged/dealt with for the riots was dealt with any differently to 2011, and the current govt has introduced no legislation at all so it is all being done by laws already in place. But you know that already.
