'Sarge off for £20M-£25M'!

2.40. Oh dear! Possibly the boy Wilder just winding us up but maybe he knows!

Other than that a very honest, refreshing summary from him. He certainly respects us now (and has done for a while) since that infamous Battle of Bramall Lane in 2017!

Having had a few nights out with him and his pals i can say Wilder's an okay bloke when he's happy. Just loses it a bit when he's upset about something. Usually when his team has lost and he's on the defensive.

One nagging thought that occurred to me just after the match: Crnac was straight in, played 88 minutes, & looked to be more of a striker than anything else to me. Am I just being paranoid  or.........  ??

Selling our best 3 attacking players in one window isn't going to go down well, especially if there is no need.

Doing Sainz an injustice there. For me he's better than Rowe.

If we replace Sarge with Crnac that’s an unbelievable amount of pressure on some very young shoulders. I can’t believe that was the plan he was referring to that convinced him to join.

Good lord, Darren  Beckford can learn and repeat a fourteen word sentence.  I'm astonished.  I'm pretty sure this was first found , written on the wall of a cave  in bears blood . Carbon dating sets the writing as being over 28,000 years old.

There is definitely interest, as you would expect. Have heard US and Germany. No idea if this will happen this window, or at all.

I’m pretty certain I heard the MLS transfer deadline has passed

so that just leaves Germany and EPL and other leagues!

The last minute decision to swerve Yildirim at a lower price, then the swift purchase of Crnac at a pretty hefty fee might indicate a further influx of funds. Perhaps just Rowe and Kamara. Let’s hope so.

Crnac looks a fairly aggressive purchase in context though , beyond what one might currently expect from Norwich.

Crnac In addition to Sargent looks positive, instead of Sargent looks light and the squad somewhat hollowed of anything weapon-like.

Sargent is no world beater, though he is effective at a lower English level. Without him you’d have to question where repetitive goals would come from

Tidy teams that don’t quite score and have occasional lapses at the back frequently get relegated.

‘Both boxes’.

Sarge is a world beater in my eyes, but I’ll settle for goals in the championship for now.

i think he might go ,

i think some striker will move the domino effect will start ending up at Sarge leaving

all depends if he thinks we can go up this season he will not want to play in champs next season for sure ,

so might think i might as well go now if he feels that way of course

As we have seen with the players brought in if a Good replacement is lined up let him go sad but long term gain ,

this season is rebuilding and bedding in the Managers tactics in my eyes ,

i very much doubt we will go up this season so if we can get 2/3 players that we can get ready for next season then i would be sad but understanding to see sarge go

If he is off. It will be in Jan.

At the earliest.

We're clearly not desperate for cash now. Knapper shouldn't get out of bed for less than £30m bid.

If Thorup has any sense he will rebuild around Sarge, not a striker the figment of our or his imagination.

Indeed - the recent nightmare of SVH is still very fresh in the memory!

Then they'll need to sit down with Josh and make sure he's committed to the next two seasons,  otherwise what's the point of rebuilding round him. I agree that players sales will have eased pressure on the Club to sell Josh , but I'd love to know how he feels  about his future, he seems like a decent guy, almost one of the Waltons he's so ' down home' as they say across the pond. Fingers crossed that his Mrs likes Norfolk.

For me, striker is the hardest position to fill and without Sargent in the second half vs Blackburn and the entire game Saturday we would have looked totally ineffective.

So it would have to be a ridiculous offer to make any sense. I'm talking 25m + and surely he's not worth that as a gamble to another team.

I see 2 problems.

One. If as is being said, this is a long term rebuild, with some possible early pain for long term gain, is he going to want to hang around for that if decent offers do come in. His stock is high and he might see this as the best time to move.

Two. Every club is a selling club but we have made it abundantly clear that we are a great place for young players to come to get game time, with the idea clearly in place to cash in when we can. Yes this is the same as every team, but we are the only club shouting about it. Will he look at the other players who have left for so called bigger and better things and think, I deserve some of that. Are we advertising ourselves as a stepping stone rather than a team with aspirations to be a premier league team.

I think what we are saying is that we have internalised the fact that we can never be top 17 so we are giving up on the football aspiration side and instead concentrating on being a player trading model which is a stepping stone for players in their professional development. We are definitely saying this out aloud more than any other club. It is a sad, tacit admission that we are inferior to Bournemouth, Brentford, Fulham and Brighton, all former tier 3 clubs.

yes i do not want him to go but if a offer came in where we could maybe get two players in for the money who will help the rebuild for the longer term ,

i think Sarge might be off but if not now Jan or definitely next summer if we are not in PL

of course we can keep him and rebuild around him i am all for that but if we DID get a offer i would seriously look at it

Crnac's arrival ahead of Sargent's potential departure is how I see it Ron! If Sargent stays, we'll be strong. If he goes, we have a ready-made replacement.
