His heat map/available stats from last season make him look like he has a very similar profile Jay Stansfield which I think backs that up. 8 goals and 3 assists in 66 appearances. And they've negotiated an option of THIRTY MILLION as part of it to make him permanent.

Honestly, what have they bought this year?

Hutchinson - £20m - Insane money to pay for a guy who has played next to no Premier League football. 
Greaves - £20m - Insane money to pay for a guy who finished 7th in the Champ last year
Liam Delap - £15m - Insane money to pay for a striker with no top level experience. Hardly pulled up trees for Hull. Idah has more experience and cost less.
Sammie Szmodics - £10m - Insane money to pay for a striker who most see the Premier League as a step too far
Arjanit Muric - £9m - For Burnley's back up keeper. 
Jens Cajuste - Loan - Great signing, would love to see Norwich sign this guy if we were in the Prem. 
Connor Townsend - £900k - Back to Leif Davies I guess, so fair enough
Ben Johnson - Free - Great signing, another I'd love Norwich to sign
Kalvin Phillips - Loan - Paying £100k a week for a guy who has done nothing for three years. 

So yeah, they're giving a go. If giving it a go is spunking huge sums of money (best part of £100m when wages/fees and all considered I reckon) on massive huge gambles at significant premiums. I'd be bricking it if Norwich were doing this.

We currently lack so much identity as a club it’s concerning. Knapper seems chaotic is my only take on his reign so far. Signing this player and letting Jonny Rowe go for only a few million more - come on. Who had even heard of this guy before? Where were any other remotely decent clubs before we got him. Do we not learn after Rasicha and Tzolis signings.

I'd say we currently have more identity than we've had for a long time personally. It's very clear what the plan is both on and off the field.

Delap impressed at Hull last year and all their fans wanted to keep him. He’s young and raw most strikers take time to mature look at Harry Kane when we had him on loan.

Kalvin Phillips you say at 100k but Gareth loved him and there’s a player which Pep saw and wanted. Pukki was on 40k in Prem so for 60k difference that’s £3m for one season. If players like him and Broja help keep them up then it’s good business. Don’t cite 66 appearances as he barely played minutes in some games so it’s manipulation of stats.

i don’t want Ipswich staying up but fair play to their ambition I wish we showed some guts and desire. We went up and sold our best player Buendia. We had a mentality of top 26 club in England which is small minded

As for this signing, it's a big sum for someone who's played a season in the Polish league and not massively stood out but if he turns out to be top championship quality then it's good value.

What has Borja done to warrant a 30 million price tag? Have you seen he’s horrendous stats for Fulham… to ask the question you posed in the next post if he’s so good why didn’t Fulham snap him up or Chelsea keep him?

 

We also don’t know the exact price, the pinkun lads seem to think it’s closer to 8 million, strikers aren’t cheap but can also hugely increase their value, seeing as Idah cost us nothing and we are likely about to make another 15-20 million off Rowe and Kamara, I think this is an astute bit of business. 
 

tell me what was your reaction when we signed Pukki? Or chucked a 1.5 at some minefield from Getafe, oh what was his name again Buendia or something? I mean that’s a crazy fee we payed as I think Getafe got him on a free! Crazy signing

This is a complete misreading of our current situation. He’s currently building and developing our identity.

Just because you haven’t heard of a player it doesn’t make them rubbish.

Finally, Rowe has a year left and wants to leave. Knapper is currently negotiating a very good deal for the club considering the circumstances.

It’s not a bad transfer haul, but I’m not sure it’s really full of PL quality.  They will be pretty well set if (when) they go down though.
