All those Worthy Outers

Recommended Posts

That wanted George Burley to replace Worthy - well I am glad that did not happen for a start.

Bet Saints fans are glad they got rid of their manager for him.  Fourth from bottom of the Division with a chance of doing a Forest.  And here were we still hoping for a play off spot last week.

Lets just see how Burley gets on in the long run eh....  He did much the same at derby - a slow start keeping them from relegation followed by good signings and a speedy climb up the league the following season culminating in a play-off place once he had left... And look what has happened to Derby since...

Oh yeah and i have NO DOUBTS George Burley would have our team passing the ball not hoofing it.

you have to look at all the facts here are Southampton''s 21 players leaving:

Well said - I do believe that Foghorn Leghorn bloke still thinks we should have him in.  Touch.

Would still much rather have Burley here than Worthless , to be honest i would rather have anybody rather than Worthless  i rate him one of Citys worst ever managers and he even comes across as a clown when interviewed.

I do hope you are not comparing southampton''s season to ours!george burley has hardly had 5-6 million to spend on pathetic players has he!come to think of it when he took over almost all the squad from the previous season had already been sold.

Burley is having to reconstruct Soton after relegation and with no finances after being deserted by Redknapp.   It was inevitable that theywere going to struggle this year especially after losing their only two decent players in crouch and phillips during the summer.   The time to judge Burley will be this time next season.

Just as any new city manager will need some time to build his own squad - Nige had three years to do this, so should any new city manager but we should see signs of improvement within a year.

One of the worst city managers? You have got to be kidding right? He took us to the premiership when nearly all hope was lost, avoiding relegation was seen as a sucess when he first took over. Look where we are now, complaining because we have just been in the premiership and now lying top half of the championship.

I think my paperboy could do a better job than Worthless. The man has lost the plot. Whatever fluence, or skill, or ability he had in guiding the team to promotion two years ago, has deserted him.

Yes Worthington has been useless this season and I want him out, but if you are honestly trying to say that you would be happy as a Saints fan after that long in the top flight going to their league position at the moment, then you have all well and truly lost the plot! And Paul, please don''t print that huge list of transfer figures up again in reply, 3 times on one thread is more than enough. [:)][;)]

I''d take Burley anytime over the current "manager".

So what if Saints are struggling this season-he''s rebuilding from the bottom up-if we have a new manager next season, we''ll likely have a similar one ourselves, but at least it''ll come with the knowledge that change is happening.

With Burley in charge, Southampton WILL finish above us next season, no doubt about that.

I think you will find they blame the chairman at st mary''s.....  If we had sold Green, The Doc, Drury, Francis, Ashton, Mckenzie, Hucks, Eddy, Shackell, Mcveigh, Svenny, Fleming, Charlton, Jarvis and Safri  I wouldnt expect us to be challenging just yet...

seriously you might as well blame kevin ball for sunderland''s problem if your going to blame burley for southampton''s. what a pathetic points scoring post, oh and on what planet do we have playoff chances?

I thought that that might be the problem Paul, well funny. [:D] Anyway, just to balance things a bit and show how things seem different from different angles - the fact that we had to get rid of Ashton is also blamed on Worthington up here (absolutely endlessly). So even if he does have to get rid of his top players, that is blamed on him as well. I would like to make it clear that I am NOT standing up for Worthington I think his time is up but it would help to keep a consistent argument. And much as I dislike Ip***t, its obvious they sacked Burley for a reason - perhaps we should have a look at their financial dealings while he was in charge.
