I had a mate say that to me.

Being an Ipswich fan is like being held stranded on an island for 20yrs with no idea what has gone on but expecting everything to be as it was before being rescued.

My mate has now been given the nickname of Wilson after the cast away film 😂

Norwich is not much better, Riverside side bins overflowing, come out of the Thorpe Station to be  met with druggies in doorways. Graffiti everywhere. The area  round the the castle rubbish everywhere.

Looks great for the tourists

The graffiti in this city is appalling.  We sell this City as a lovely tourist destination yet it looks more and more like most other dumps in the UK.

The council don't want to know, the police don't want to know and the owners of the buildings cant be bothered to clean it up.

Horrible to watch a place I once had a real passion for fall apart.

Ive got one at work who's very much the same

" Last time we went up we made it to top 5, there's no reason why we can't again "  was the result of the last conversation... I genuinely had no response other than to belly laugh and walk off 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

100% correct Add Anglia Square and Magdalen Street to the list

Pretty much UK-wide... town centres, public spaces, roadsides, central reservations sides of major roads etc, etc...

It may be largely (?) 'cost cutting' but it effects towns, cities and communities. Looks **** and hardly boosts 'civic pride'.

During the 2010s, councils’ overall core funding per person fell by 26% in real terms, on average, with higher council tax revenues only partially offsetting a 46% fall in funding from central government.

Basically: it's George Osborne's fault

Basically it’s the Councils fault millions wasted on road improvements that improve nothing

I would think this city has more diversions and roads being dug up, replaced, and then dug up again a short time later than any city/town of comparable size
