Blackburn Predictions

Recommended Posts

Hopefully see an improved defence with chrisene and Cordoba but these improvements are gonna take time. Will take any form of win to buy in some confidence early. Expecting a bit of a rough augustĀ

I'll take a draw, but we haven't done well against Blackburn recently. A 2-1 defeat unfortunately.Ā

If Szmodics has gone, I fancy our chances with the proviso we score first. Blackburn still had that terrible run in the second half of last season and without him, they'd surely have gone down. That said, whoever comes in for him will be fired up forĀ this one.

I said in my first post that anything could happen, but I thought we'd sneak it by the odd goal in three or five. With Szmodics gone, I'm pretty sure we won't lose, at least.

With not much conviction, I think we'll nick it 2-1. If we score first and early though (first 15 minutes), I think we'll get a clearer win.

It's going to take us a few games to get up and running so a loss for me is likely.

Depends on who starts st theĀ  back for me. I would like to seeĀ Ā Stacey Hills Doyle Chrisene but fear it will include Duffy. I really do not want to see Hanley. As good a servant he has been it's time for the youth

My team

Gunn

Stacey Hills Doyle Chrisene

Nunez McLeanĀ  Forson

Hernandez Sarge Sainz

Can't believe I am putting Onel ahead of Kamara but probs identifies our need for more pace on the flanks. Oh Johnny Rowe. If only you grew up. With him in there we would frighten the life out of teams.

On benchĀ

Mair Cordoba Aboh Forsyth Myles Duffy Kamara

Them losing their best striker is a massive bonus for us. We need to get on the front foot early and take an early lead. 2-1 to us.Ā

I would be more than happy with a home draw but I think even without Szmodics Rovers may still just have the edge...It's our defence that still concerns me....We're the underdogs but who knows, stranger things have happened?....Gonna be a tuffy....in fact, I think the majority of our Championship games are going to be....sadly 2-1 to Blackburn....

Strangely weā€™re not underdogs with all the bookies but maybe they factor in last seasonā€™s form. Who knows ?Ā

Going to go against the grain and predict a home win. Theyā€™re Szmodic-less and the news that Delia and MWJ have finally called time might improve the atmosphere inside the ground.

2-1 City win

Yeah possibly and I'd love a great performance especially if ourĀ home crowd and our playing squad are really up for it....and as long as thatĀ Oxford performance has been castĀ deep into the apathy Abyss....

Norwich City 1 - 3 Blackburn Rovers

Sainz our goalscorer.
Ā

Bright Start, more signs of Thorup ball coming through but sloppy mistakes will cost us.
Keep the faith though people, patience is needed.

They have won their last three visits, aggregate score 5 1.Ā  Smodics was unlikely to start anyway any we still face nippy dolanĀ and new hero gueye before the subs IikeĀ wieman arrive.Ā  Eustace has them drilled now so an expectation of an away win (eg NTT20 tipping backing blackburn win -1 at 7:1)Ā  is understandable.

However Derby were woeful last Friday and it's hard to know if blackburn are any good. If cordoba is ready enabling duffy to shift to his preferred right side , home advantage, and the forson nunez kenny engine room with an extra weeks understanding developing I think it will be a closer game with just one goal in it.Ā  Ā 2-1 is my punt while accepting that result could be reversed...

Szmodics-less Blackburn will still be a force to reckoned with. I'm expecting a heady atmosphere for JHT's first Championship home game;Ā frantic action, loads of mistakes, 4-3 at FTĀ with born-again goal machineĀ Hernandez netting the winner...Ā Ā

How many of you are prepared to stick your house and life savings on Norwich keeping a clean sheet in the first 20 minutes?

0-2 Blackburn. Two defensive mistakes. Frustrated and desperate Sainz and Sarge. Lots of hands on hips. Disgruntled tutting in many parts of the ground. And collective sighs of resignation to a loooooooooong season ahead.

But the weather is nice so a pint or two on the way home will help.

I want to see some good substitutions , tactical awareness (manager rather than players at this stage) and a general understanding that there is a tactic or plan being developed.
Good attacking football in places and hopeful of a win.

Ā

Just dont get your knickers in a twist, we need at least a year and have to respect the clubs choices rather than pissing our pants over every loss.Ā

2-1 Norwich.

Blackburn had one decent result against Derby. They're beatable.

Thanks you bastards. I'll take 3-2 though šŸ˜

Itā€™s football mate, so we donā€™t have to. Iā€™d not put this on any team on planet not conceding in the first 20 minutes because Iā€™m not an idiot.

Based on you thinking this Iā€™d assume you think there are a good number of teams that you COULD stick your house and life savings on keeping a clean sheet after 20 minutes.Ā

Letā€™s put it to the test. Iā€™ll be generous, please list 5 teams from all of Premier down to League 2 and we will see how many keepĀ clean sheets after 20 minutes in the next round of games. If you get all 5 correct Iā€™ll donate Ā£10 to the CSF. If you donā€™t then you donate Ā£10 to themĀ
