Hills getting a start good to see.

Kamara leading the line again is interesting.

Well I am so disappointed, unless this is the team expected to play this coming Saturday.

Stacey at LB? Or Fisher?

Presume the 2 new lads not really close if they're not even on the bench.

Fisher presumably, he played there a lot in preseason.

Cheers, didn't pay any attention to pre season

Pleased with the line up. A great opportunity for the midfield to sort themselves out and hopefully some viable alternatives to Duffy / Hanley will be highlighted.

Team news in. Stacey, Hills, Warner and fisher at the back. Forson gets his first start.

Based on his second half performance last week, hoping Forson will boss this game. We can only hope.

Presumably the midfield 3 need playing time together, so will be Saturday's midfield 3.

Sainz maybe needs more playing time in what is expected of him?

Those line-up photos look like a page from marketing lookbook for a hair & beard styles for young gentlemen.

It does appear to be the case. I know he scored some good goals last season, but I would like to see Sainz step it up now, especially with Rowe not around.

I think Hernandez will play through the middle. That’s my bet. Didn’t he do that for Boro a few times

Not sure why we're intent on running Stacey into the ground...every game if pre season , still plays tonight

If we actually manage to build a lead, likely he will be subbed off in the 2nd half.

Looking forward to it, first trip to Carra Rud for a few months.

I think they're missing a trick with the League Cup, they should use it for some experimental stuff and try and get the fans in. Allow drinking in view of the pitch, powerplay where you can chuck an extra player on for 10 minutes, monkey rush in injury time, stuff that'll trigger the purists.

Compared to the one that had tons of experience at Oxford?

It's clear what thorup remains experimental so getting it embedded with the middle 3 in particular makes sense

True, but how are they ever going to learn how to make stupid mistakes and suicidal back passes if we never give them the chance?

Slightly strange we signed 2 LBs yet neither of them are playing. Perhaps McLean at LB and Fisher in midfield?

I wasn't expecting that many changes but credit to Thorup for getting as many involved as possible, which could suggest he is some way from knowing his best first XI, and after that performance on Saturday he should be!

I only said it to get bites, and it looks like I've got three quick ones.

But genuinely, I do think we've gone from one extreme to the other, compared to the Oxford game. I don't want us to ever play the Hanley-Duffy combo again, but I think the defence would look better and the youngsters would learn faster if one of the old boys was in there with them.
