MC_NCFC 267 Posted August 12 Doing some digging on the Idah deal. Got wind that Abu Kamara is also off. Boss in from multiple clubs and has been pushed for sales by Norwich rather than the other way round. The belief is he’s not able to step up. 1

I think we'll see a quite a bit of movement this week
Midlands Yellow 4,682 Posted August 12 Off with the youth. Let’s get McLean and Hanley on longer contacts. 1

S_81 1,088 Posted August 12 (edited) If this is true it only adds to the amount of players we need to bring in. Unless we’re relying on some of the dross that have failed us already. Edited August 12 by S_81
Norfolk Dan 335 Posted August 12 Really hope Abu stays. Watching him play for Pompey last season, he won games for them with big 8.5/10 performances.

But he has failed to stand out when he has had minutes for us. Maybe League 1 is his level, maybe we think we have better players (or potential signings) in his position.

That’s fair but playing in L1 is a lot different to the Champs - I’m not convinced Kamara is ready for the step up yet.

My son is a Pompey fan and I saw a lot of Kamara last year - not entirely sure he can make the step up to the Championship at the moment.......still young though so could improve

I'm still apoplectic about losing Bali Mumba to Paris St Ge... sorry, Plymouth.
Carrow89 156 Posted August 12 Thing is Kamara is going to be competing with the quality of Forson as that looks the benchmark for signings Which could mean another loan, or getting his head down and working hard at Colney
Wacky Waving Inflatable Arm Flailing Tube Man 4,573 Posted August 12 If true, I wouldn't be massively disappointed by this, depending on the fee. He may have done well at Portsmouth but has never looked like he's at the level required here during his admittedly brief appearances.

IMO it would be a very premature sale - and in the face of what Knapper and Thorup are meant to be doing, somewhat

Ulfotto 793 Posted August 12 If I were Kamara I’d be slightly annoyed that Fassnacht started ahead of him at Oxford despite rarely featuring in pre season.

He was injured. Kamara played at various times and mostly looked anonymous. Perhaps that is why? That Fassnacht was largely innocuous on Saturday isn’t relevant. Or indeed during the game on Saturday which he apparently started but didn't appear to actively take part in.

sgncfc 1,330 Posted August 12 In the last year of his contract, he either signs a new one or we get a couple of million for him. Didn't do enough to get a new one, presumably.

Fassnacht wasn’t meant to play on Saturday and got the late call to replace Rowe. It really doesn’t matter to me that tou don’t get it. I just like that if you say his name quickly it sounds like there is someone with a bit of pace around the team….would be better if it was in defence of course.

Robornio 131 Posted August 12 I hope we have players lined up to come into the club. At this rate, we’ll have a smaller squad than the Villa team of 1980/81. All a bit frantic at present.
