It was completely disingenuous to blame everything on Covid and the £30m loss in revenues arising there from. It was unforeseen at the time, obviously, but did that excuse what happened subsequently in the summer of 2021? Unforeseen events, like Covid, should have been reflected in the subsequent, revised budget for 2021-22, a season in the Premier League, with its subsequent record revenues. The gamble failed, and meant the need for a significant working capital injection following relegation. That was, undoubtedly, the primary driver behind MF’s subsequent decision. Any outside rhetoric about his sale price completely ignores the reality of the situation.

No other poster here has ever said Attanasio would eventually sell what he has bought. Not one. This genius revelation is yours and yours alone. In decades to come there will be statues of you, celebrating this unique insight. Young Canaries will be told the story in awed tones, as if of a myth. Fast-food outlets at the ground selling inedible muck at extortionate prices will be named in your honour. Edited October 9 by PurpleCanary 1

As a point of principle, I’ve never had an issue with them not being involved with the day-to-day running of the Club. However, they are the principal non-executive directors of the Club and therefore have primary responsibility for the appointment of other non-executive directors, who are appropriately qualified people and capable of challenging any proposals, or recommendations put forward by the executive team. I will leave it to others to decide for themselves if that has always been the case.

Bearing in mind that it not only prevented spending on the team but also meant sales had to happen. It doesn't excuse the prem season after, but it would have changed the transfer landscape that summer. A few more quality editions in the champ would have meant less need to go for more that summer. Savings that may have helped land Ajer etc, push us over the line of quality vs quantity. We'll never know though.

On that basis everyone else should be entitled to exit on the same terms and conditions plus 11% interest for the last 2 years. MA could grant a loan to S&J to enable them to settle. At 11% interest compounded monthly. Maybe Neil Doncaster has recommended it?

Perhaps Neil Doncaster's appearance as Delia's guest last Saturday means she has woken up to the latter?
