Rowe refuses to play for us as transfer drama hits

Recommended Posts

Do an Alex Ferguson - tell him he will train with the youth team, that he’s going nowhere and we’ll invoke the 1 year option. He can rot in the youth team until he apologises to the whole first tram squad, the management team and directors for his pathetic attitude. And BTW you aren’t going anywhere unless our valuation is met.

He’s a good kid, who’s always given his all for the club. Other clubs want to pay for his talents… therefore he’s earn’t a move and deserves his pay rise.

Bull crap - he’s played barely half a season out the last two.  He may be entitled to move IF a side comes in for him, but until then WE deserve a proper professional attitude from him.  It really is quite simple.

A lot of overreaction here, and I get it, people are frustrated and angry because he’s a player we love.

Truth is, we all know Rowe wants to leave and he deserves his pay day. Playing for Norwich risks injury, and that pay day going. It’s part and parcel of the game, player and agents have the lions share of power. Norwich don’t want him injured either, so this situation suits the club too.

I desperately hope we can hold onto Sargent.

The culture at the club is the players know the owners will sell any sellable asset so know they can down tools and force a move on their terms.

Rowe needs to be made an example of so future instances like this do not happen. Morning of our 1st match of the season ffs!

We need the new owners in full control now. The current setup is past it's sell by date

I suppose the reality is most Norwich fans expected Rowe to not be in the squad today, I certainly did at least. Just the rhetoric around it, the only unknown.

It's not unknown. We KNOW he pulled himself out of contention 20 minutes before the pre match meeting.

The last two training sessions before a game in modern football are typically focused around the game tactics with our likely XI known, and it is common for drills to be that XI versus an XI who aren't playing.

Meaning we've prepared for this game fully expecting Rowe to be starting. He's stitched us up with a last minute pull out.

Also disrespectful to his team mate Fassnacht who mentally prepared himself for a role from the bench today, and has been told 20 minutes before the game that he is starting and hasn't been on the right side of training drills or fully tactically briefed. Surely you can at least see that this is disrespectful to Fassnacht above all else?

As in, most fans knew last night there was  more than fair chance he wouldn’t be in the squad given Marseilles formal offer.

I wouldn’t agree it’s disrespectful to Fass, who’s probably delighted to start.

But fair point re training, etc. Perhaps I’m being too fair on Rowe.

No coincidence that Rowe and Idah have the same agents.  I wonder if those who thought Idah accidentally missed the flight to Austria now think differently.

Idah have a reason to be frustrated at Norwich. And he is on the bench (again) to day.

All can do mistakes, we have to forgive Idah!!!!

What’s funny is how Ligue 1 is not only a farmers league but an absolute basket case. He’d be on more money at a top championship club.

I hope those that have given abuse to Idah now do the same to Rowe!

I don’t care how good he is in peoples eyes, or how much we get for him, get him out of the club as soon as possible ffs

You couldn’t have misjudged the situation more. Withdrawing from the squad on the morning of the first match of the new season is appalling behavior.

Despite being utterly pd off with Rowe, sadly can perhaps understand after that half why he is so desperate to leave

Come on, he’s acted on the morning of a match like a complete an utter pre-madona, without any consideration for the team or the club who has developed him over several years, completely selfish and unforgivable !!!

It's not just the fact that he has refused to play (aka doing your job) but he has told the coach on the morning of the game, when the management has been preparing for Rowe to be in the starting 11. I can't see a way back for him at NCFC, Norwich just have to hold their nerve & squeeze as much money from whoever wants him & not just let Rowe have his way & sell for a low fee.

don't disagree in the slightest, but the pedant in me has to let you know it's "prima donna".

Agree totally. He belongs to Norwich. Tell him he won't be sold until his contract ends. If you all really think we need the money you are in la la land.

It's inevitable he's going to go now, but refusing to sign the contract last season made that inevitable. I don't blame Knapper for cashing in, but Rowe has two years left and we have every right to get a fee we deem acceptable.

Sara played through pre-season with no drama and got his big move.

This is a total **** move from Rowe, and not only refusing to play, but not telling Thorup until 20 minutes before the team meeting? That's unforgiveable and just totally disrespectful to manager, club, fans and team-mates.

Really gone down in my estimation today.

Marseille are a huge club, no chance Mason Greenwood and Hobjerg have signed for them on Champs wages, Greenwood on about 100,000 euros a week allegedly, not sure on current exchange rate but £80k to £90k probably?

And managed by Roberto De Zerbi now, he's a great coach. Not saying he'd get Greenwood money, clearly he won't, but I can see the attraction.

Balearic climate and Saint Tropez down the road as well.

Absolute cretin of a man. Stick him in with the kids, fine him and tell him until we get this price you aren’t going anywhere. Sick of it. Have some grace. The majority of us were resigned to losing him but have the f*cking good graces to leave like Sara did. Absolute creature. I’m never been so angry, refusing to play as well is an absolute insult to the fans, his team mates and the club itself. Ridiculous

Minimum punishment should be a 2 week fine.

Keep him away from the club now and just get the best price for him.

Oh and make him make his own way back from Oxford.
