Hanley has been getting away with falling on his belly when running back towards his goal under pressure for years. Not today.

Yeah, exactly this.

Surely people understand that it wasn’t going to just miraculously all fall into place. Fans can’t ask for change of style and an identity and then not give it any time.

of course we’re going to look average for a while, which should give plenty of people time to have a good winge on these boards. Have to get behind what they are trying to do, trying to bring on new talent and potential.

Yes. Never ordered a city shirt from there mind, but got an England shirt and can't tell the difference between it and an official one.

I ordered a baseball jersey and our kit from last year, and it looks pretty damn similar to the official one I got from the Norwich store. Can’t beat it for the price.

Loving Hinchcliffe's criticism of our experienced centre halves! Spot on.

We looked awful all pre season with the only hope being "well it's just pre season it's meaningless.."

So sadly true. This is appalling to watch. Hoff will fast lose any sympathy if he doesn’t push this effort level up. He should be hauling a few off at half time too. None more so than Hanley

I don't think Hanley and McLean are as bad as they've shown in this half, but also you can't carry on and act like their levels have been anywhere near required. If they were young players they'd almost certainly be hooked at half time.

The spine of this team hasn’t changed. But they have further deteriorated. Our best creative player was flogged. What do we expect?

at the moment a league one side is running rings round us and we look second best in all departments. Relegation scrap incoming

I agree that the performance has been pretty abject, but this isn't the team that will play all season.

Sara, Rowe and Idah will generate £30-35m. None of those are playing today.

We've spent £4m on Amankwah, and will probably/hopefully spend another £8-10m or so on reinforcements, none of which are playing today.

I'd be shocked if we aren't looking considerably better, at least on paper, this time next month.

Can we change to the black shirt at half time and just blame the 3rd kit for this performance? For 15mins at least anyhow.

Gibbs/Hanley/Duffy/fashnacht should not really be first team players this season

Theyve been woeful.  I'd replace three of them at half time with Kamara, Forsun and Hills.

I’d be happy to look a average, we are well below that standard.

What’s changed?

Still can’t defend.
Still struggling to build from the back.
Still lack any sort of bite in midfield.
Still as dull as dish water to watch.

I am not a happy clapper or a 'football was much better in the olden days' old git by any means but the impatiance of the modern football fan gets worse every season. Essentially the first handful of games are an extension of pre-season. New players are slotting in and the coach is really getting to see what he is dealing with.

Some of the hysterical predictions of doom on here are already laughable and there are some valid points. I never got the Gibbs thing at all - he's never seemed anything special to me. Fassnacht is not a starter. Hanley is likely to be finished and very soon I hope - JHT can hopefully now see that and will act considering his reputation and continued employment are resting on whether he continues to pick the "Scottish Cruise Ship" - that description I did enjoy😅

With a summer, pre season, some new players and a new Coach I would expect to be able to see some differance.
