Ward 3 496 Posted August 6, 2024 Dear Norwich family, It’s hard to put my feelings into words right now, but I promise I will try my best. I’d like to thank each and every one of you for the amazing support you gave me during my two years as a Canary player. The way my teammates, the staff, the board and especially the fans have welcomed and treated me and my family is something I will never have enough words to thank, so it’s really hard to say goodbye to a place that has changed my career and my life so much. Since day one, the least I could do was give my best to always represent you properly on the pitch, but honestly, the bond we have developed went far beyond the mere professional obligations a player has. I’ve always felt a true connection with everyone at the club and it’s an unbelievable honour to be a part of the Canary family. During these two seasons, as we were chasing after our dreams and common goals, I feel I’ve learned and grown fantastically both as a player and as a person. Unfortunately we have not reached our main goal, but that does not make this journey any less beautiful and unforgettable to me. From now on, Norwich has gained another lifetime fan. Wherever I am, I’ll always be cheering for you, Canaries. Thank you for giving me some of the best days of my life! 🔰 Yours, Gabby
AJ 1,376 Posted August 6, 2024 In fairness to Norwich, it's hard to stand in the way of top talent if we can't support them in giving them the platform they deserve. We didn't get promoted so it only seems fair given the money he's made us in return. The only one I felt we got wrong was Buendia, we should have held firm until the end of our PL return before letting him go. Anyway, all the best Gabby, a Champions League footballer, indeed

Richard Richard 191 Posted August 7, 2024 Why can't all footballers be like this?! A bit of humility and respect goes a long way.

Capt. Pants 5,145 Posted August 7, 2024 Sums the guy up in a nutshell really. He'll probably never play against us, but will always receive a warm welcome should he ever return. Hopefully one or two of the remaining players read this and refect on their behaviour.
Pyro Pete 2,383 Posted August 7, 2024 He's class, on and off the pitch.
TheGunnShow 7,462 Posted August 7, 2024 Reflects well on him, reflects well on the club, and - as much as some won't want to hear it - a little feather in the cap for Webber in getting things established out in South America. Best of luck to him, no matter where he goes from here.

andyc24_uk 79 Posted August 9, 2024 I wonder if we negotiated a potential buyback or first option clause into Sara's transfer? He's clearly ready to step up to a bigger club right now and even though the Turkish league is hardly one of the big 5, being a regular starter in a team which should be fighting for their title and decently competitive in the Champions League is definitely well deserved... however, if everything goes according to plan here and in, say 3 seasons time we're in the Premier League, looking to get established, and hoping to bring in some experience in midfield, a return home to a club he clearly loves, where he'd be a fan favorite, giving him a new challenge of Premier League football, might just make a lot of sense for all parties...
