Anarchist  groups? There's rules in footy and VAR, can just imagine millennial snowflake anarchists needing counselling after an offside that's dodgy.

You seem to be implying that anarchists tend to make any sense. Most of them are just edgy teenagers trying to be cool and what not and as soon as any of them grow up they obviously do tend to grow out of it.

Fair enough. To be honest I’m not even sure the Rangers fans are that right leaning, at least the ones I’ve met over the years. Everything they do is merely a reaction to Celtic than any deeply held beliefs I think hence why you’ll see Israel flags at Ibrox and Palestinian ones at Parkhead. 99% of those in those stadiums wouldn’t have a clue about the history of the Middle East, and wouldn’t give it a second thought the minute they leave the stadium

FWIW both sets of supporters have a pretty childish , ill informed version of 'hisory'. Sectarian....says it all really. Stupid people on both sides , holding on to versions of history and not learning from it.

You’ll get no argument from me on that front

Hang on, what's with all this "Hipster" ****?St. Pauli are A) A Bundesliga team B) A long standing and well respected German team C) A team that matches our strong values of inclusivity, equality and fan equity.

Do you wonder why they are popular with fans worldwide or is it an issue you can swipe with being hipster? Bit of a softlad take I feel

This game feels like a massive coming together of two great teams until a bunch of clueless cynics belittle it, For me Clive

Hang on a minute old partner, steady you on.

I got to know St Pauli reasonably well having mixed with their supporters groups both socially and in a sporting sense over a number of years.

Whether you like it or not there is an element of it being fashionable to support St Pauli and as I said talking to St Pauli supporters the fanbase was split on the subject...........

Apparently St Pauli have sold 4,000 tickets for their fans. Given St Pauli are probably the ultimate hipster club I imagine a lot of those fans are ones based in the UK.

Looking at the ground plan loads of tickets are available to purchase clearly marked as Away fans in the usual blocks F & G in the South stand but H & J appear to be a sterile area with no tickets available to purchase by either set of fans so quite where this figure of ' already sold 4,000 tickets ' comes from i have no idea.

Rangers have had Catholic players and managers, the no Catholic policy ended over 30 years ago. I’m sure Celtic would have done the same if they could have found enough British Catholics of a high enough calibre to form a competitive side.

Their financial strife I place at the feet of the owners rather than the club, same as I do any other who has been in trouble

Try telling Kris Boyd that.

By the way, what school did you go to?

What is an anarchist? Is it someone who doesn't agree with you?

Bethnalo . 'Aparently' being the disclaimer, but as he knows all there is to know about footy (except what Parma knows of course), who are we  to dispute it?

The one benefit of Ethics ramblings is that i have become highly observant of peoples wording, so, 'according to reports a major minor shareholder at NCFC has surrendered with customary humility all spurious claims he has previously made'....see ? we can all do it.

I‘m not entirely sure what point you’re trying to make I’m afraid

No alignment between Catholocism and Socialism other than that Mussolini's Father was a Communist.

On the one hand you've got Rangers fans being very pro patriotic British flag shag- Flyers and on the other hand you've got Celtic fans crying and moaning about how awful it is to be British and happily flying any flag that's not British all while living in the UK.

They're two annoying sides of the same coin.

Paddy Davitt said the club had told him they had sold 4,000 tickets to St Pauli fans in the pre-match build up to the game on Friday.

The Israel/Palestinian flag thing was going on in Northern Ireland a number of years ago.........

Having spent a bit of time in Edinburgh, Glasgow and Belfast over the years and as a result trying to get an understanding of the "history" of it all, I totally agree with you.

From my time in Northern Ireland I formed the distinct impression that the extremes on both sides of the divide spoilt it for the majority of people who just wanted to get on with their lives.

One of the books I read on the subject stopped me in my tracks very early on and I had to read the passage twice to make sure I was not seeing things - The Pope at the time supported and funded the Protestant William of Orange!!

With regard to the St Pauli "affiliation" with Celtic, I was lucky enough to be on the receiving end of that. I got told by a rather drunk St Pauli fan that "the only good Englishman is a dead Englishman", I just smiled a politely reminded them that two teams from England had travelled to Hamburg to take part in an anti fascist football tournament and that at least we were holding up our side of the bargain by  being non discriminatory ...............

Yep, round and round it goes, hypocrisy  and bigotry go hand in hand.

The ground plan on the website tells a totally different story. 4000 away fans would be housed without question in the South Stand with blocks F & G the first to go as with any away club but currently there are hundreds and hundreds of seats available to be purchased clearly identified for away fans only.

My money remains that Davitt has it very wrong.

Probably a guess about how many of their worldwide cult followers will descend on the Fine City next Weekend.

I’ll be there, apparently by today’s standards I’m ‘ far left’ , I thought I was just a odd and sod who supports human rights and works in the NHS, but seems that’s some meaningless signal now.

Human Rights and NHS - must make you a double Communist. (Please don't tell me you'd be happy to see higher taxes for better public services 😉).

Having worked in both the amount of money that has/is wasted wouldn't be accepted in the private sector
