I remember going to the London Stadium last time we were up and them rolling us over without playing particularly well. They just looked bigger and stronger all over the pitch. Sc*m will have gone there full of hope after Villa eased off last weekend to save themselves for Bayern and let them scrape a point. But that’s the prem isn’t it. You convince yourself all will be ok once you get that one win and then the likes of West Ham, Palace or wolves (previous seasons) come along and you think that’s going to be the game but then they roll you over and you suddenly realise you don’t have a clue where that win is going to come from, let alone the 8 or 9 wins you need. Enjoy scummers! The best part is remembering all the times we were in the top flight and they mocked us when we lost matches. Don't think its as much fun for them now the shoes on the other foot.. Canary73 335 Posted October 5, 2024 Already looking like Leicester downwards for the relegation places. The fact that 4 sides have still to get a win after 7 games should be ringing alarm bells for 'the best league in the world'. Next round sees Binners v Everton and So'ton v Leicester. Wolves at home to Man City....

Worthy Nigelton 1,329 Posted October 6, 2024 Serious question, if they lose the next game do they fire McKenna? He's spent over £100m and hasn't looked like winning a game.
AJ 1,376 Posted October 6, 2024 Delap looks an interesting prospect but otherwise good to see West Ham give them a stark reminder of the quality needed. I kinda don't miss the PL
canarydan23 4,816 Posted October 6, 2024 Everton coming to Ipswich in two weeks is already massive for them. If you can't beat Everton in their current malaise when you're in your own backyard then you've got to wonder where the wins are coming from. They're already the only team who couldn't beat Southampton.

Absolutely no chance they would sack him. He’s brought them to where they are. Despite the £100m they are by far the poorest squad in the prem - I know the shortcomings of transfermarkt but it shows them about EUR100m below the next worst and less than half the value of all but 5 or 6 teams. And there in a nutshell is the problem with the english league system at the moment…..promotion anyone?
Ken Hairy 4,312 Posted October 6, 2024 Catching up with MOTD, did McKenna really just say they were competitive??? West Ham utterly battered them 8-1 wouldn't have been an unjust scoreline. Sounds like he is getting a touch of the Ten Hags in watching a completely different game to everyone else

Full of fake plastic fans, biased media, prawn sandwich brigades, dirty oil money and blatant corruption The binners have spent the past decades thinking that its a magical wonderland that they are destined to be in with and exploding with jealously anytime we got promoted and thinking that we were just gaff and mocking us every single time we lost a match in it thinking that if they got promoted they would just easily stroll to a simple mid table finish or better in their first Prem season. Needless to say I think they are starting to understand where we are coming from when we used to say how much we disliked the divison, might be the one thing come the end of the season we and them could agree on.. Enjoy scummers! Perfect post mate. I spent much or the pre season trying to explain exactly this to some binner mates. Some pragmatic and listened others blind (like we were I expect) Like you say, I think the truth is starting to settle. Everton will be huge, but then Everton have the experience of doing this year in year out, Ipswich don't....

Yeh another solid post. I thinking speak for many of us when we saw the prem as the land of milk and honey - the final destination for our Lambert , Farke and even wee baldy team. I think the penny finally dropped on the last prem run. We are not wanted. The prem is closed shop and is corrupt. ( I laughed out loud when I re posted my binner mate a msg I sent him in June saying - Liverpool away and man city home in your first 3 and arsenal or spurs away just to kill you off after Xmas. ) I hate the prem like it's obviously the goal but who wants to watch Thier team get tonked each week. I get why the binners though they would do it and took glee in pointing out their fans didn't know the prem as they had not been near it in so long. Penny starting to drop. Back to Norwich though I dunno where this leaves jsz we making progress now and looking great. Part of me will groan when we have to go back to the prem it's like buckle up and get your panini sticker album out so you can tick a few guys or away stadiums off the seen list. Maybe have one stand out game. But other than that be prepared for the media to throw shade each week and for a boring season of football - add in lose your beat players and managers. Part of me would rather be a top half established championship club!!!

Oh and don't forget that if you don't spent over 100 million when you go up the media will slander you as having no ambition and deserving of relegation. Then if you do spent over 100 million you get mocked for spending outside your means and get told that spending that much is pointless.

But let's slam Everton as they have been on the verge for a decade anyway. That breakaway league or some form of schism in English football would be the best thing for all.

duke63 755 Posted October 7, 2024 The latest EPL issue seems to be the true fans having to put up with football tourists coming along just to watch a match with no actual interest in the game or result. It will kill atmosphere at many clubs before long, not that it’s great at quite a few big clubs already.

But I’ll reserve judgment on Ipswich until 26th October. Our wins have come against the current bottom three so I’ll have a benchmark for them. Palace were far better than Southampton and Wolves. Then again, you lot beat us at Gtech in 21-22 so who knows?!
