Good news and bad news.

Bad news - I was away at the weekend and missed the Sheffield Unit game.

Good news, I was visiting a friend in Altringham and we went to see Man City vs the Scum! (In the Man C end of course). Ip5w1ch were SO BAD and I had the best time watching them get mullered and seeing their fans quiet and humiliated. Bliss!

In all fairness, most teams get mullard by Man City at the Etihad.
I was hoping for more than 4.

Yes, I was hoping they’d ship 10!

They really are just trying to build a Championship squad for the top flight. It's all going to end in tears.

Well....

They're spending vast amounts on undoutedly Championship players.

But...they're planning for the most likely scenario i.e. relegation. These players have decent re-sale value in the event they impress and leave for the Premier League upon relegation, or they are top Championship players who will make up a terrific squad that you'd expect to go back up straight away in the event of relegation.

It's a sensible route to take.

Can anyone think of another team that adopted this "top 26" approach?

We went about it totally differently. We spent far less money for a start on far lesser-known players.

Just imagine of Citeh's 116 FFP counts come in this season, Leicester 6 pts deduction, and Everton continue to plummet to be worse than utter sh1t, the Binners might just have a decent chance!

I hate to **** on the parade but didn’t we lose to non-league Luton when we were under the stewardship of one Chris Hughton in the FA cup back in 2013 (I’m waiting for “binner” and if I don’t get it then I’ll cry / **** to sleep tonight)

Funny that just as they signed Kalvin Phillips they were all bragging about how they've signed a Man City and England superstar in Phillips despite everyone having pointed out that he was awful for West Ham, Man City knew he was a lazy fart and wanted nothing to do with him anymore and even Southgate had enough of him and that he had failed a medical at West Ham as he was overweight.

Yet they bragged and bragged about signing him and spunking huge wages they really can't afford on him and he gets his start against a leauge two side and.. They lose. And now they're all saying he looks rusty, slow and unfit.

Can't say they were not warned.

Latte Lath from Boro… really are hedging their bets should they return to the champs.. another good singing IMO.

Have they landed him? I see he’s trying to force the move.
As much as it pains me to see it they’ve done some great business. They’ll be competitive but I think likely to still go down - but they’ve built a squad capable of winning the championship, should they be able to keep it together

Once again going for championship players to tackle the top flight. They've accepted relegation. Zero ambition, proper tinpot. Should be banned from ever getting promoted again if you ask me 😉

I'm not totally sure just vomiting money on the Championships better players is a water-tight strategy. It sounds good, like something out of a story book, but wouldn't we have seen someone try this before if it was likely to be the winning hand?

We had the Forest tombola work out at extortionate cost, so maybe that is the inspiration. I remain unconvinced however. A season of getting honestly rogered does things to the wellbeing of a club.

Villa did that when they had Dr Xia. Was a ****show, they finished mid table and were it not for Grealish season after (and a big helping from Bielsa) they wouldn’t have gone up

For all their deals the binners have made 1 transfer I'm even remotely envious of, and that's Szmodics

He just had his peak season in football though, at 28 hes just going to lose value from here.
Great short term capture at half the money, but at £9m its this times Finidi George.
