I think Gunn was at fault for the first German goal. He had a very poor game just like this Leeds performance. If we get an offer to cover his transfer fee I would take it.

That injury was the end of Hanley, you dont recover from that post 30. Hell you would be lucky to post 25.

And replace him with who? People seem to think we have money to replace all these players they want gone from the club. It's an absolute nonsense.

Gunn is the least of our issues and was one of our best players last season. Like those wanting McLean gone, people need to give their heads a wobble.

Correct. The difference in performance level between Gunn and Long last season goes to show that finding a good keeper at this level isn't as easy as people think.

But I think the only reason anyone is suggesting this is because Germany and Leeds are fresh in everyone's minds. The collective mindset before the playoff semis was that we were hoping there wouldn't be any big bids for him after his excellent season. Football fans can be so fickle.

We all love Angus but he had a poor night. Has to save the first , got away with the disallowed goal and a suggestion that he should get across to the 5th. 
That said the sweaties looked like a pub team in comparison to Germany so he wasn’t alone.

Gunn looked unsighted for the first goal for me, it seemed to have the hallmarks of a keeper who saw it late. I'd actually argue that parry leading to the Porteous challenge was his weak moment. Talk about knocking one back into the mixer.

Re Hanley. Lets be serious here. How many times have we seen Hanley caught under the flight of the ball in no mans land. His positional play has always been questionable,fit or not.

Scotland statistically have the most 'second division' players in the tournament, when you supplement that with the SPL players they have, another second rate league, in their squad, the smattering of good premier league players they have in Robertson and McGinn, isnt going to be anywhere near enough

Caught some of the Talk Sport post match discussion and the carrot top know all was seriously suggesting Hanley was MOTM! Apparently he 'dominated' and 'showed real leadership'. One can only assume his Ovaltine had been spiked to come out with that rubbish!

This is a weird thread.  Germany have a team from the top teams in Germany plus some real stars from teams abroad like Real Madrid, Man City, Arsenal etc.  Scotland have players mostly from the SPL and the Champs + a handful who are in the Prem but none who'd count as stars.  The scoreline was at the worse end of what was likely, but certainly nothing surprising.

 

Very harsh criticism of Gunn IMO - he made plenty of good saves and it would be unfair to blame him for any of the goals.  For the first, he nearly saved it, but if he'd actually saved it, that would have been a brilliant save.

 

Ditto really harsh on Hanley who came on when the game was already lost and has been out for most of the season with injury.  Didn't do that bad, yes he did look a bit out of his depth but then so would most CBs from the Champs or bottom of the PL against that attack.
