GodlyOtsemobor 2,830 Posted June 6 (edited) Really have to say it makes me laugh seeing these media outlets being ' outraged ' and condemning PSR because top teams are " forced to sell one of their own " I currently have talk $híté on and they're currently chastising PSR rules for forcing Chelsea to want to sell one of their own in Conor Gallagher. This again just highlights for me how top heavy the media are with this, they only care because it's one of the media darling big 6 having to sell, did they care when Cov had to sell us one of their own in Madison because they have to book balance etc? Do they care when we or ANY club outside the top 6 have to sell one of our own because a big club comes in with stupid money and stupid wages? No of course they don't, they praise the top club for " finding such a talent " completely ignoring the impact it has on the selling club trying to then replace that talent, because the selling club doesn't matter unless is a big 6er. It's laughable hearing them be outraged that a top club is " forced to sell one of their own " you want to just shout at them, " yeah welcome to the real world " !!! What it boils down to is they only care about those big clubs and want them to be able to spend whatever they like, do what ever they like and forever grow bigger and bigger with the ridiculous money flying around because at the end of the day it's their cash cow, without them the crap journos and ex crap players ( agbonlahor, bent etc) won't get payed what they do to blow smoke up the back sides of the clubs that are actually ruining football in this country. Fúçk them all off to the ESL and give us proper football back. ( And before the responses come, yes I already know " shouldn't listen to talk sport they're awful etc etc. " well I listen every now and again while doing the housework before work because normal radio is even worse and my podcasts are for at work ) Edited June 6 by GodlyOtsemobor 2
cambridgeshire canary 7,798 Posted June 6 From "Just buy your way to staying in the leauge you have zero ambition you've not spent 200 million on players after getting promoted you deserve to be relegated and to never go up again" To "HOW DARE PEOPLE BUY OUR PLAYERS!"
Wacky Waving Inflatable Arm Flailing Tube Man 4,618 Posted June 6 I do agree with the general point though. I've said on this forum before that it's ridiculous how the PSR and FFP rules as they currently are actually incentivise selling homegrown players rather than ones that have previously been bought. That's why Chelsea are actively trying sell the likes of Broja, Chalobah and Maatsen, and are open to selling Gallagher, rather than any of the overpriced dross they've bought for in the last two years. Obviously it wouldn't need to happen if every club lived within their means and ran itself sustainably, but we all know that most clubs at all levels, from the top of the Premier League down to non-league, stretch their finances to the absolute limit in order to be as competitive on the pitch as possible and live window-to-window, which is why they have to start doing things like this. The proposed new PSR rules for the Premier League actually look like they'll encourage the retention of homegrown players rather than the sale, but UEFA rules will remain as they are and still incentivise the sale. It could have been the best thing to have happened to football. Let the proper clubs left behind after the corporate entities vanished turn football back into a sport.
