non-scoring strikers 153 Posted June 6 Hopefully not. Its fine having an impact sub to come off the bench and score late goals but once they get ideas above their talent and make public utterances about it, then its time to move along. We can do much, much better.
horsefly 5,301 Posted June 6 (edited) Sadly, he was not wrong. Maybe the fans need to reflect on how they treat players when their career is going through a tricky patch. Particularly when those players are still very young. Edited June 6 by horsefly 18

Capt. Pants 5,008 Posted June 6 Yes largely hated and or derided amongst our so called supporters. Not sure why really but we haven’t ever really been supportive of our young players or even those brought in on loan. Trouble is if he does leave we'll be relying on Sargent and Barnes and we've already seen how utterly useless a top scorer from Holland be in England. Be careful what you wish for. Given his background Idah will be in love with Celtic. Perhaps NCFC and/or supporters will come to regret the attitude? Of course his Wages are high though probably not as embarrassingly high as some other supposedly more mature but not always delivering types.
hogesar 10,762 Posted June 6 The video was a year ago. So let's just take that into context, not that the OP would ever bother, and is more interested in stirring up sh*t between our players and supporters, apparently. Idah seemed to turn quite a few people back into rating him last season. He has received unnecessary stick for large parts of his time here, he's sadly not unique in that.
lake district canary 4,830 Posted June 6 Perfectly good comments from Idah there, regardless of when he said them. It's the life of a footballer in a nutshell, loved one minute, rubbished the next. I always think of Aaron Wilbraham when he was here, gave everything to his football, wasn't half as bad as people made out, never gave any reason or cause to be ridiculed, absolute 100% professional, yet was constantly rubbished by fans (some fans). Even good players like Steve Morrison were targeted. But lets not think this is just a Norwich thing it happens at all clubs. There is a side to all of us that can be unpleasant and negative towards others when we allow ourselves to give in to our baser instincts - it's easy to be negative. Much better to be supportive!

Captain Holt 580 Posted June 6 Poorly treated, yet equally thin-skinned. If he thinks Norwich fans are treating him harshly as a perennial sub/backup, he isn’t going to make it anywhere worth shouting about, including at Celtic. Wait until he goes five or six goals without a game up there.
Bethnal Yellow and Green 2,424 Posted June 6 Think it is worth people watching the clip before commenting. He is more talking about how he would get criticism from fans after a poor game and more reflecting on the highs and lows of being a football player. In the same interview he talks about how much he loves being at Norwich and the area. 4

Yeah, cos it’s only Norwich fans who do it. Christ, he wants to think himself luck that’s he’s not at Leeds, he’d be crucified 20 minutes into a bad game.
KeiranShikari 1,524 Posted June 6 He should really invest in a NCFC tattoo.

Ulfotto 798 Posted June 6 It’s hard position to be “ok” in. Similar to a goalkeeper. You are scoring goals everything is great if you’re not you are a villain. What I would say about Idah he seems to have put his injury problems behind him in the last two seasons.
Ward 3 483 Posted June 6 I never heard anyone say he's the next star here. And I've don't recall seeing or hearing people say they hate him. Maybe if he was a bit better he'd be ok 😔

jaberry2 769 Posted June 6 (edited) Adam Idah, go to Argos and get a norwich tattoo. Thats all you need to be loved here, even if you're an average footballer ala Hernadez. Edited June 6 by jaberry2
BobLoz3 609 Posted June 6 Can't wait to see everyone come on here and Facebook talking about the most recent goal he's scored for whichever club he ends up at. Many thought Carlton Morris was ****e too but he took off when he got to about 26 years of age and now is doing quite well. I think Norwich fans have grown so short on patience it is almost laughable. "We've given him loads of chances but he has been useless" I hear them cry. But then you have to think, well he scored 17 goals last season in all and that's a fairly good return. I don't know what will happen with him and I'm not too concerned if he goes. But I do want to make it known that I'm calling out each and every one of you when I see posts about his latest performance for whoever he's playing for. And if there is any moaning about letting him go I think I'll explode internally 😂😂 1
jaberry2 769 Posted June 6 (edited) I just think Idah doesnt feel loved enough at Norwich and he is probably right. Whilst he possesses some good striker qualities, he was only a bit part player here and at Celtic and his positional play is pretty woeful. Whilst he may go on to have a Carlton Morris type of career, for me I would rather than take the £6m and invest in someone else. However I suspect our new manager will want to see what he's made of in pre season before any decision is made, which is the most sensible approach. It also seems pending any decision on whether Josh Sargeant leaves as well, which may pivot any decision. Edited June 6 by jaberry2
Ken Hairy 4,272 Posted June 6 When was he ever "the next star"? I've always maintained he's a league 1 level player at best, and I've never seen anything to dissuade me from that opinion 🤷♂️
tricky974 63 Posted June 6 He has been at Norwich for a long time now and needed to go out on loan to develop and get minutes, the PNE hat trick did him no favours or us any favours because the club decision keep him as a back up hindered his development he just sat on a bench getting a few mins here and there, he could develop into something special but it won't be with Norwich in my opinion.

paddycanary 579 Posted June 6 Didn't Farke call him a "goal-machine" at some stage? He was prolific underage here in Ireland. But he hasn't impressed at senior international level (yet) - not dissimilar to his general level of performance at Norwich. He got a good few chances but has now been overtaken by Evan Ferguson to lead the line. You would imagine Thorup and his coaches will have a good look at him over the summer. His first touch, speed of thought and positional play sometimes look questionable. But experience can often make up for your deficiencies and he may well come good over the next few years. But will it be at NCFC?

Because there are plenty of examples of a significant minority of Norwich fans doing that. It was disrespectful, unhelpful, unwarranted, and thoroughly embarrassing to witness that so often at Carrow road.
