Shirt 2024/5

My attempt on the fifa kit creator, unfortunately many options are behind a plus membership which I'm assuming is paid for. I had many other kit designs from years back but I don't seem to have them any more since my last PC build.

Shirt yes, shorts no. 

To carry the design on, have green shorts and then have the ' stripe ' carry onto the shorts but turn to yellow on green.

Can't say I've seen it, but in the creator the half stripes are from the Nice 2020-21 shirt, although it doesn't have that same distortion affect IRL but that's what the creator had it listed as. The collar and sleeves are just a default one, and I slapped on a pattern as an overlay on the stripes too.

I found some of my old kit designs so I'll add a couple I liked, but yeah old Errea designs.

I think the fact we've had a new one every season for the last decade plus is probably the biggest clue.

Last year there was a kit design on here that was better than what we got. Why don't they get rid of the designer and offer a free season ticket to the winner. I think this is very good although it should have OTBC somewhere. Socks maybe?

Last season's bristol city away kit is exactly what our home kit should be, including the lighter shade of yellow, closer to what ours was in the 80s

I used to do a lot more concepts when it was easier to track what a supplier might do. Bespoke has become as common as template now, save for maybe collars or cuffs etc. 

Joma haven't seen a lot of releases yet this summer, but there does seem to be a predominance of the collar seen on the below Greenock shirt. Our fellow Canaries Nantes have a lovely away kit that I think would work brilliantly for us- I've tried to do a version with Norwich landmarks but the image stock has made it pretty impossible so abandoned it.

My instinct this year says simplicity, so I've included one of mine that follows suit. Probably not quite enough green, but is distinct, and yes I know the sponsor won't be Lotus (Stinking Rich Dodgy American Sponsor was too big to get on there).

Love the cleanness of the collar, but feel it’s a bit too yellow. I like lines and designs, but it’s a fine balance. Too much design and it looks like that awful blocky Aviva shirt. Too little design and it’s just a training top.

If your design had the green and two stripes collar from the 80s, along with matching sleeves edging… perfecto mondo.

Might be an idea to guess the new main sponsor is first as it won't be Lotus and I'm surprised they haven't gone bankrupt.

Many a shirt design has been trashed by the sponsor's logo, especially the Aviva ones.

I must say I do find myself every season getting irritated by just how late we leave shirt releases, the last couple of years our ' 3rd ' shirt ( however unnecessary) has been released during the season. Most other clubs have their shirts out already. 

 

I understand it, release them sporadically so the kids then craze the parents for the new new shirt after having the previous new shirt for a few weeks etc. it just irks me that we seem to be the very last club to release it, you could still release them one by one, but earlier across the summer! 

 

It used to annoy me more as I collect them and have posted before about my collection, so used to get quite excited by the new shirt releases.

however I've reached the point where I now only buy the ones I really like ( last season I didn't get the home shirt but got the green and purple ones ) so doesn't annoy me as much nowadays, but still don't get what takes quite so long.

Where has it been reported that Lotus may withdraw their sponsorship? MD Matt Windle sounded pretty buoyant about the NCFC/Lotus marketing alignment when he spoke at a business event I attended at CR a year or so ago.(A lot could change since then of course). If true, are we talking shirt sponsorship, or the 'LTC' (Lotus Training Centre) too?

Looking at how things fall, I think we will see this year release on Friday 5th July. Perfectly placed for weekend available and just ahead of our first friendly.

You are right though, it's not too long ago we would often release it before the end of the current season and wear it in the final game. I'm sure there must be some sales data somewhere that says the more drawn out approach makes for better numbers.

I remember the kit always launched at the Norfolk show . At least we always knew when to expect it then

I’m also voting for the lighter 80’s style of yellow! Would also be nice to have some detail within the fabric of the main body of colour like the olden days.
