Watching the Champions League Final

Recommended Posts

I don't have a TNT subscription so can't get the channel to watch the game

In the past when it was BT you could watch the final on their website, this year it's different. It says below that Sky customers can get Discovery+ as part of their package, does anyone know how I do that?

What channel is it being shown on TV in the UK?

TNT Sports have the UK rights to the Champions League and will be showing the final.

Viewers in the UK will be able to watch for free on discovery+, which is available via an app or on a smart TV. You will, however, have to register for an account. EE customers and Sky customers can also get discovery+ as part of their package.

Its been a while since I did it, but I think you need to register with discovery plus on the website, then once that is setup, you link it to your sky q box. Can't fully remember but you use login details or possibly a QR code. Was a bit of a faff but not the worst.

Discovery+ is basically another streaming app, it has a free tier and a paid tier that includes sports. Seems like this year the final will be on the free tier.

It's free if you already have Sky though.

Thanks, I think my problem is that I'm still using an HD box as I've not been able to upgrade to Sky Q due to terrible wifi.

So I've just looked into it- there are three tiers

1- free to anyone, mainly contains stuff from the Food Network. Just need to create an account.

2- either paid for or free to Sky subscribers- has more content but not TNT sports

3- TNT sports

The final will be available on all three of these tiers.

Ah yeah, might not be possible with your sky box. Worth checking if you can.

Is Nigella providing expert analysis if you are only on the first tier ?

Asking for a friend ...

You can watch it for free on the Discovery+ website. Just sign up to the free account and return when the match begins. Worked great the other day for the conference league final.

Thanks for the link but when I click on it I don't get offered a free option.  Is it hidden somewhere?

Just signed up for a free account, myself.

Visit: https://auth.discoveryplus.com/gb/product

Then scroll down to the bottom of the page, and click on "Register to watch free content."

I might be wrong but I thought it was also broadcast on YouTube in the past…though maybe not any more.

Yes, it was when it was BT Sport. Not any more, sadly.

This worked for me too. The option to watch free in non UHD version appears on a link for the match tomorrow in the discovery+ TV app

I haven’t watched the competition in years now. I used to love it (and the UEFA Cup) and cheer on the English clubs but now I find I just don’t care. It’s the same clubs year in year out, with a convoluted group stage to try and minimise upsets and increase the prize money

I've managed to download the app to my laptop and it's listed from 18:00hrs as a free stream. 😀

Thanks to all who helped.

Up visiting family I thought I’d watch this in the Oak Tree with my 11yr old son but turns out that’s not a go-er …

Any recommendations for anywhere else reasonably family friendly that might be showing it ?

BVB for me, all day long.  Fantastic support - would have loved for us to also make Wembley yellow a couple of weeks ago.

Dortmund is very much the hipster choice of club. Would be nice to see Bellingham lift the trophy mind, even if Real Madrid are.. Well, Real Madrid.

Best supported club in Europe all day long tonight. Come on Dortmund.

Of course the irony is that while fixtures like tonights are fun as you only get them once a year if the big wigs and the rich at the top got their super leauge wishes this kind of fixture would be played at least once or twice a week..
