You won’t get a job as an agent like that @Barham Blitz

My experience of football indicates clearly that morals are only used when they fit the desired strategy or outcome anyway. Then they are lauded high with polished PR.

Valuable assets are rarely castigated so hard. Indeed words such as ‘redemption’ or ‘rehabilitation’ or ‘support’ would be to the fore.

Football always has it both ways.

It may replace religion in some ways in the modern world, though any moral high ground it has is deeply covered in shade.

I don't doubt it Parma (although always sad to see another career avenue closing ...) and don't disagree with anything you've said.  Although I'd probably classify Duffy as an expensive liability rather a valuable asset, hence my suggestion...

We are - as seems often the case - in agreement @Barham Blitz and saying the same thing.

I intended two scenarios for players off-piste as a general guideline for any club, anywhere, in any scenario:

1. It suits the club to dump the dump a liability (usually contractual-financial, though can also be dressing-room destructive), so they speak of morals, values, etc

2. The asset has significant book value or resale value and so ‘forgiveness’ ‘rehabilitation’ ‘support’ come to the fore (forgiving almost any egregious sin)

I don’t think it would tax vast amounts of our intellectual skills and critical thinking abilities to decide where we’d place Duffy (particularly with the new regime en place).

Nevertheless, it will depend on the exact terms in his contract. If there is no breach, he might -  by default - end up in camp 2.

In which case you would see the cards - trotsdem -  played hard to match that actualité, regardless of any so-called empirical truth.

Football’s words - even Norwich’s - are often not worth the paper they aren’t written on.

That would make it the perfect replacement
