To think some on here saying Farke had been given 3 seasons to build a team for promotion and promotion wasn’t expected.

Yea he had one job, I will be very surprised if he’s not sacked immediately.

As for Leeds…womp womp

He's arguably better suited for the job next season than this.  Concerning how they didn't turn up today though, i've often wondered how Farke would fare in a one-off crunch game like that.

Jean Kevin Augustin google that and enjoy. People think Stuart Webber did some bad deals.

Most (not all) so called 'fans' on that appalling WACCOE site are raging at Farke and his s***e football. Team don't cross, don't shoot and it's all sideways rubbish.

The language on that forum is 'industrial' at best and any poster spouting that vile garbage on here would rightfully be banned PDQ! Before our match at E Road when the locals fury was rising by the day after that incident post match at Carrow Road, I noticed even their so called 'moderator' was joining in the hysterical keyboard ranting.

So pleased they lost!

Agreed, however I doubt their board or fans have the patience.

I think this board would be the same if we had peed an estimated £300 million up the wall and a manager who promised promotion in his interview, didn’t succeed. Potentially they could now become the latest Derby.

They have to pay other clubs £190m in outstanding transfer fee instalments before they can spend this summer? Sounds like they might be in a lot more trouble than I thought they would be. I know they had a lower wage bill than us when we were last in the PL and still have 2 years of parachute payments left, but does anyone know if they had any relegation clauses in their players’ contracts?

I think they had loan contracts which despite players not playing for them costs still.

It does evidence however the general belief that this squad was the most expensive ever assembled for the championship.

There was a lot of this nonsense before the play off game. Remember that they have more than one forum like us. I didn’t bother with that one as you have to register even to read it. They have one called Marching On which seems quite sensible and considered.

It is not cutting the wages that is needed, but meeting those instalments. I suspect a few will be heading out of Bell end Road, as the anticipated promotion did not happen. How much they can knock that headline sum down will have to be seen. It certainly puts into perspective what we achieved with our scratch squad assembled for relative peanuts.

So how would anyone describe this state of affairs ? Ambition, or reckless gambling ?

It could be as mentioned above the next Derby County. Or Pompey when the ever 'onest readies Redknapp done for them. City have been wary of this sh it or bust gambit.  We've done L1, albeit through bad management rather than financial over spend. Though there are plenty of recent PL clubs below us who have suffered the consequences of that overspend and seem now doomed inhabit the murky world of mid table obscurity like some ghost ship destined to roam the oceans for eternity.

Still, their fans have that hereditary European Cup to console themselves with. Though pretty much sod all since, bar an old Div1 title in 92 and a couple of Second Div titles - we have won 4 in the same period (and a League Cup). Mind you, they were runners up in LI in 09/10. Can't think who pipped them to the title that year ☺️

The relegation clauses were that players could leave on loan if a club were prepared to take on their wages (and possibly pay a loan fee). So they still have Koch, Llorente, Kristensen, Roca, Aaronson and Sinisterra on their books but they'll presumably all be playing elsewhere again next year.

Leicester should start the season on minus points next season in the premier league and Leeds should also in championship.

If the EFL's FFP / PSR or whatever it is called this week is applied, Dirty will not suffer any points deductions next season as their big outlay was while they were in the EPL, not the Championship.

The coming season will see some kind of financial operating restrictions, but who knows how much cash their US backers will allow them to burn?

There will be sales, but the majority will be players who did not figure last season anyway.

The interesting thing for us is, who will they buy, and will it break the Farke playing style & philosophy?  That is, if Farke remains.

They might not be able to afford to sack Farke now.

Not sure why the would anyway. He still remains one of the better options for promotion.. although I’ve never been convinced Leeds is the right club for him. Too much pressure to achieve instantly.

When the dust settles, this Leeds side under Farke should win the league next season. I think he’ll get a chance to do that too.

They have a treasure chest of players to sell, many who have been out on loan for various reasons, parachute payments and a massive support and match-day income. Their actual ownership seems to be yet another entanglement of finances companies and dubious investors with contrived company names.

They'll need to sell a few big names, for sure, but they are far too big a club to need to succumb to anything but tight-belting measures for the foreseeable future.

They've blown their best chance as I suspect they'll lose their impact players, like Summerville etc.

That said Farke is probably the best option to lead on the 'rebuild' that they might need. He'll get the 'let's see where we are after 10 games', but their fans won't grant him much slack.

Leeds don't deserve Farke.

Plain and simple.

So I kind of hope they do sack him.
