John Percy names Johannes Hoff Thorup as the new boss

If he is insistent on playing from the back, we have to get defenders capable of doing it, it also means we have to do everything possible to offload Hanley and especially Duffy. Also,  I see no place for Barnes under the Hoff.

Let's let him get in the door before we start telling him who he should and shouldn't play and offload, shall we? 😆

Looks quite exciting to me. I'm prepared for a couple of 0-4's to Millwall if we then get another squad we can relate to. I can't see him ditching all our experienced players at all; he'll take at least 6 months to work out who does what. Let's see if Aboh and Rowe sign new contracts - that would be a fair indication that we have some excitement ahead, if players like that buy into the project.

Sounds like Will Still might have said yes to Sunderland. Will be interesting to see how he does.

I think he’s going to do well, but I understand our approach and think getting the best coach for building the structure we want of course makes sense.

I presume he will become popularly referred to as the "Hoff".

That's how I'll name him, anyway, especially if does good!

Maybe this is why Sorensen stay to be his translater

Having worked closely with several Danes over a number of years I can assure you that they speak better English than we do

Perhaps he'll know of a defensive modfielder we could us?

What Essien does will be interesting. He could take over as manager there. His Ghanaian so clearly has a connection and important part to play there.

Have no idea about Essien's qualities as a coach but would be quite a coup to recruit him as well.

Compensation agreed apparently.

Just needs to sign on the line.

He might even get a 'Take That' ticket for tonight.

Was one of my favourite players in that Mourinho team. I'd ask him to bring to bring his boots as well.

No point, he was a Defensive Midfielder,  we don't do them

I'd say that's true of the Nordics in general. Dane, Norwegian, Swede, Finn, Icelander, Faroese, Alander....

Players running on to the pitch to some classic Hoff as well!

Good enough for the Berlín wall, good enough for  Carrow Rd

We do if they are injured, and I suspect that wouldn't take many pre-season games to sort out...

Mind you, the Berlin wall ended up smashed to bits so probably not something you want to be "good enough for"!
