Keep on going at this pace ,we may get tired if we have to go to extra time

Well done for finding the negative in a hugely improved performance.

A truly dreadful decision. What is a defender meant to do? You have to be allowed to challenge for the ball. It was just a split second late and did absolutely nothing to stop Kane getting the shot away.

I don't have an interest here in either team, but to quote Lee Dixon, "That's never a penalty but I don't care!" Just to add. "Going in studs up." Yes, that is bad when it's on the ground, especially if deliberately. But by definition if you challenge for a ball in the air your studs are likely to end up up, as it were.

I think it was the 2018 World Cup, Sweden v Ukraine, and there was a bouncing ball (outside the area) with a player from each side rushing towards it. The Swedish player got there easily first, and hoicked it up and clerar. But it meant his studs were up. The Ukraine player ran on to them. And the Swedish player - what was he mean to do - leave the ball?! - was sent off.

Dumfries got there a split second late. It didn't stop Kane getting his shot away. It didn't bring Kane down. He fell down because because of gravity because he jumped to do a sideways kick. And it didn't injure him. That was the fall. There was nothing intentionally bad about what Dumfries did. But apparently he should have stood back and let Kane do his worst.

Hardly surprising from our point of view. Teams actually wanting to score against us a little bit giving our attacking players a little bit of space to work in.

I know, it's almost as if smaller teams just want to gum the works up, keep it as tight and messy as possible and hit on the counter. How dare they not come out and attack so Ungalund can attack at will??!!!

Have a word with yourself 🤣🤣

I don’t make the rules, i think football today is absolute nonsense but in todays game that is given anywhere else on the pitch so it’s a free kick and a penalty by todays ridiculous standards

“We can’t complain about the tactics or performance any more, so let’s swap hot takes about the penalty”. Enjoy the match.

Even with today's daft rules that was poor.

Southgate with the correct HT sub 👍

I have to say, these semis have both been a huge improvement on the rest of the knockout stages.

It’s almost as if we have finally got evenly matched teams.

Southgate has not only got the team defensive but the fans too. Look at that formation, all standing in line defending well!

And its always the England fans who get dubbed the hooligans

This is the problem though, These are merely opinions on what should and shouldn’t be a free kick in a contact sport. No one believes these incidents should be given as a free kick but that is irrelevant. I don’t think it should be given as a free kick but the incident has to be judged by what is deemed a free kick in the ‘modern game’ and unfortunately the way the game is today that incident is given everywhere on the pitch and therefore its a penalty.

I wouldn’t

a comment on how bad we are at defending needs no more than a line and a half

We've gone back to Southgate-ball

As soon as Depay went off, and was replaced by a midfielder, the space we were being given disappeared. The Dutch were being generous, shame Depay got injured or we'd have been out of sight by now.
