No one believes these incidents should be given as a free kick but that is irrelevant. I don’t think it should be given as a free kick but the incident has to be judged by what is deemed a free kick in the ‘modern game’ and unfortunately the way the game is today that incident is given everywhere on the pitch and therefore its a penalty.
